Office Chair Repair
The repair of office chairs requires different approaches depending on the specific damage. Here are the repair methods for common issues:

I. Slight Wear on the Back of a Leather Executive Chair If the leather surface only shows slight wear or scratches, a multi-functional cleaner can be used for cleaning and repair. When operating, note the following:
- Dip a soft cloth in a small amount of cleaner and gently wipe the worn area in a circular motion, avoiding excessive force that could cause secondary damage to the leather;
- After cleaning, use a dry cloth to absorb any remaining liquid and let it dry naturally in a well-ventilated area;
- If the worn area becomes lighter in color, use a leather color-restoring paste that matches the chair's surface color for local color restoration to maintain a consistent appearance.
II. Holes Burned in a Leather Seat For leather damage caused by high temperatures (such as cigarette burns), a base-coating-filling-coloring-curing process is required for repair:
- Base Coating: Sand the damaged edges to remove charred parts and ensure a flat repair surface;
- Filling Repair: Select a repair paste that matches the leather material to fill the holes. Apply it in layers and press firmly. After drying, use tools to shape the texture to match the original surface;
- Spray Coloring: Prepare a special spray paint according to the original leather color and spray it onto the repair area in layers, with an interval of 5-10 minutes between each spray to ensure an even color layer;
- Hot Air Curing: Use a hot air gun to evenly heat the repair area from a distance of 15-20 cm, with the temperature controlled between 60-80โ. This promotes rapid drying of the paint layer and enhances adhesion, ultimately achieving a visually seamless effect.
III. Tilt Issues with Office Chairs Chairs tilting to one side are usually caused by damaged casters or an uneven floor. The repair steps are as follows:
- Check the Caster Status: Turn the chair upside down and observe whether each caster is bent, deformed, or broken, and confirm whether the wheels rotate smoothly;
- Replace Damaged Casters: If the casters are damaged, purchase a caster set that matches the original model. To remove the old casters, simply pull them out. Apply a small amount of spray lubricant to the base socket and use a rubber mallet to tap the new casters in until they fit snugly;
- Test Stability: After replacement, place the chair on a flat surface and gently press it in all directions to check for any remaining tilt, ensuring that all casters make even contact with the ground.
IV. Damage to Other Structures or Paint Finishes If the chair has issues such as a loose frame, loose screws, or peeling paint, refer to the general principles of furniture repair:
- Loose Structure: Tighten all connecting parts with a screwdriver and replace damaged hardware if necessary;
- Paint Damage: After sanding the small peeling area flat, spray it with a self-spraying paint that matches the original paint color for repair.
