Office Chair Renovation and Repair
Office chair renovation and repair require targeted measures based on the type of chair and the extent of damage, mainly divided into three categories: ordinary chair repair, tilting chair adjustment, and executive/sofa chair reupholstering.

Ordinary Chair Repair Process
The repair of ordinary office chairs typically involves structural repair and surface treatment. Step 1: Dismantle the chair - Use screwdrivers, wrenches, and other tools to remove screws, clips, and other fasteners, separating the base, backrest, seat cushion, and other components for subsequent operations. Step 2: Structural repair - For deformed parts, soften the wood with steam heating and then correct it with clamps; if the wood is broken, use wood glue to bond it and secure it with wood clamps until the glue is completely dry; for deformed metal frames, use hydraulic pliers or specialized tools for adjustment. Step 3: Reassembly - Install the components in reverse order of disassembly, ensuring that screws are tightened and clips are in place to prevent looseness. Step 4: Surface treatment - First, sand the repaired area until smooth, remove dust, and then apply shellac or primer to seal the wood. After drying, use a stain to adjust the color to match the original chair, and finally apply varnish or wood wax oil to protect the surface and enhance wear resistance.
Tilting Chair Adjustment Method
If an office chair tilts to one side, first check the wheels to see if uneven ground causes individual wheels to bear uneven loads or if the wheels are worn or broken due to long-term use. If the wheels are damaged, replace them with new ones of matching models: use a wrench to remove the fixing screws of the old casters, clean up residual glue or debris; apply a small amount of lubricant (such as silicone grease) to the new caster shaft to reduce installation resistance; align the new casters with the mounting holes, fix them with screws, and tighten them to ensure the wheels rotate flexibly without wobbling. If the wheels are normal, check the gas lift or chassis adjustment device, and adjust the height of the gas lift or the balance screws of the chassis to restore the chair to a horizontal position.
Executive/Sofa Chair Reupholstering
The core of renovating executive or sofa-style office chairs is reupholstering. Step 1: Dismantle the chair - Use an electric screwdriver to remove the base screws, separate the backrest, seat cushion, armrests, and other components, and mark the positions of each part for subsequent reassembly. Step 2: Replace damaged upholstery - Cut new leather according to the dimensions of the original upholstery, leaving a 3-5 cm seam allowance; use a sewing machine or hand stitching to sew the leather seams, ensuring even stitches and no skipped stitches; wrap the sewn leather around the chair frame and secure the edges with a staple gun or specialized glue, taking care to hide staple marks or glue stains. Step 3: Install accessories - Reinstall the armrests, base, and other components, check that the screws are tightened, and ensure the chair is structurally stable. Finally, conduct a functional test - Adjust the backrest angle, height adjustment function, etc., to ensure the chair functions normally after reupholstering.
