Office Chair Renovation

Admin October 09, 2026

Office chair renovation mainly includes operations such as reupholstering, seat refurbishment, fixing tilting issues, and repairing damages.

Reupholstering: When the leather surface of an office chair is worn out, reupholstering can be used for renovation. The specific operation involves first stripping off the old leather, then selecting appropriate leather materials, such as diamond-patterned leather, for reupholstering. This process requires fine manual work to ensure that the new leather is flat and firmly attached to the chair surface, giving the office chair a brand-new look. Reupholstering not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the office chair but also extends its service life.

Seat Refurbishment: Seat refurbishment involves multiple steps, including removing the backrest panel, spray-painting the support rods, for example, using silver spray paint, to improve their appearance. Then, reupholster the seat cushion and backrest leather. This step requires selecting leather materials that match the chair's style and ensuring tight and wrinkle-free upholstery. Finally, use glue and staplers to fix the leather to the chair, ensuring durability. Seat refurbishment can comprehensively improve the appearance and comfort of the office chair.

Fixing Tilting Issues: If an office chair tilts to one side, it may be due to uneven or damaged wheels. To repair it, first check whether the wheels are installed correctly and if there is any damage. Replace damaged wheels if necessary. Then, apply lubricant to the chair base socket to reduce friction and facilitate the installation of new casters. Next, use a rubber mallet to tap the new casters into the socket, ensuring a firm installation. Finally, test whether the new wheels can roll normally to ensure that the office chair returns to a stable state.

Repairing Damages: For small damages on an office chair, such as cracks or tears on the leather surface, glue can be used for patching and repair. Select glue suitable for the leather material, clean the damaged area, evenly apply the glue, and press firmly. After the glue dries, the repair is complete. Repairing damages can prevent further expansion of the damage and maintain the integrity of the office chair.
