Office Chair Red Installation

Admin October 16, 2026

The installation steps for an office chair typically include the following core processes. Following these steps in order ensures a smooth installation:

  1. Install the Chair Wheels and Five-Star Base Insert each chair wheel (caster) into the ends of the five legs of the five-star base, ensuring the clips are fully engaged to prevent looseness. Some chair wheels may require firm pressing until a 'click' sound is heard to confirm secure installation. Then, vertically insert the gas lift (height adjustment column) into the center hole of the five-star base and tighten the bottom screw by hand to ensure a tight connection between the gas lift and the five-star base.

  2. Secure the Base Plate and Seat Cushion The base plate is a key component connecting the seat cushion and the gas lift. Align the base plate with the top of the gas lift, ensuring the mounting holes are aligned, and then press down vertically until a 'click' sound is heard or it feels in place. Some base plates require silver screws (usually provided with the accessories) to be inserted through the holes from the bottom and tightened into the threaded holes on the bottom of the seat cushion. Use a screwdriver to rotate clockwise until they cannot be loosened further, ensuring a firm connection between the seat cushion and the base plate.

  3. Install the Armrests (if applicable) If the office chair is equipped with adjustable armrests, align the bottom of the armrests with the pre-drilled screw holes on both sides of the seat cushion and tighten all the fixing screws (usually 2-4) with a screwdriver. Some armrest designs require the armrest slots to be inserted into the holes at the bottom of the backrest first, and then secured with flat-head screws from the side or bottom. In this case, ensure the screw length matches the hole depth to avoid cracking the material due to excessive tightness or wobbling due to excessive looseness.

  4. Connect the Backrest (if a separate design) If the backrest and seat cushion are separate components, align the connectors at the bottom of the backrest with the slots or screw holes at the back of the seat cushion, insert vertically, and secure with screws. Some designs require the backrest to be tilted to the maximum angle first, then the connectors to be inserted and the screws tightened to ensure a natural angle and no gaps between the backrest and the seat cushion.

Precautions:

  • Before installation, check that all accessories are complete (such as screws, wrenches, and instructions) to avoid delays due to missing parts.
  • Keep the chair body stable during operation to prevent parts from falling off or being damaged due to tilting when the gas lift is not fixed.
  • The tightening force of the screws should be moderate. Excessive tightness may damage the threads, while excessive looseness affects stability.
  • If the holes are misaligned or parts are stuck, do not force them. Check if any parts are missing or if the direction is incorrect.

Different brands of office chairs may have design differences in details (such as screw specifications and clip types). It is recommended to refer to the instructions or installation videos provided with the product first to ensure that the operation complies with the specific model requirements.
