Office Chair (Red Chair) Installation

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation of an office chair (red chair) typically involves the following steps, which can be carried out according to the general process:

  1. Install the chair wheels Insert each chair wheel into the assembly holes of the five-claw (chair base) one by one, ensuring that each wheel is fully secured to prevent loosening. Some brands (such as AutoFull and Sihoo) may use tool-free designs for their chair wheels, allowing them to be fixed by simply pressing down.

  2. Install the gas lift Align the thicker end of the gas lift vertically with the center hole of the five-claw and press it down firmly until it is fully inserted. The gas lift is the core component for adjusting the chair's height, so it must be installed securely.

  3. Connect the base and the seat cushion

    • Place the base on the bottom of the seat cushion, paying attention to distinguish the front and back directions. Align the screw holes and use the matching screws (such as B screws) to initially fix them (tighten 3-4 turns) and then tighten them one by one. It is recommended to tighten the screws simultaneously (for example, tighten two screws halfway first and then gradually increase the force) to reduce installation pre-stress.
    • Align the center hole at the bottom of the seat cushion with the top of the gas lift and insert it vertically into the hole in the base to ensure a tight connection.
  4. Install the backrest

    • Align the two sides at the bottom of the backrest with the armrest installation positions on both sides of the seat cushion. Insert them and then use screws (such as C screws) to fix the bottom of the backrest from the bottom of the armrest brackets.
    • Align the installation holes at the back of the backrest with those on the seat cushion brackets and use a wrench to lock and fix them with screws (such as D screws) to ensure that the backrest does not wobble.
  5. Install the armrests Press the button below the armrest surface and insert the left and right armrests into the holes of the armrest brackets respectively. A clicking sound indicates that they are properly installed. Some models of armrests may require additional screws for reinforcement.

  6. Install the headrest (if applicable)

    • Place the headrest in the middle position at the top of the backrest and press it to make it fit the backrest.
    • Pass a screw (such as an E screw) through the headrest fixing buckle and tighten it to ensure that the headrest is stable and does not fall off.

Precautions:

  • Different brands (such as Sihoo) may simplify the steps, for example, using tool-free installation for wheels or a direct insertion design for the gas lift. Refer to the product manual for details.
  • Avoid applying excessive force during the installation process to prevent damage to the parts. If there is a jam, check whether the holes are aligned.
  • For more specific brand or model guidance, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for video tutorials or refer to the accompanying manual.
