Office Chair Reclining Device
The office chair reclining device is a seat component equipped with sliding, elastic, rotating, lifting, and variable rocking functions. Its installation must follow standardized procedures and is compatible with most computer chairs with reclining functions. Here are the specific installation steps and precautions:

I. Installation Steps
Preliminary Preparation
- Ensure all components are present, including the reclining disc, fixing screws, matching wrench/hex bit, and some brands may include shock-absorbing rubber pads.
- Lay the computer chair down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the chair or floor; disconnect the chair's lifting gas rod to ensure stability during installation.
Locate the Installation Position
- Find the reserved holes on the rear side of the chair base near the wheels, typically 2-4 symmetrical screw holes.
- For new chairs, check if the manufacturer has attached installation instruction stickers; if adding a reclining device, use an electric drill to create holes according to the component's drilling template, avoiding the lifting rod structure inside the base to prevent damage to core components.
Fix the Reclining Device Body
- Align the reclining disc with the reserved holes, place the matching screws into the aligned holes.
- Use the matching tool to tighten the screws alternately, avoiding tightening one screw completely at once to prevent uneven force distribution; some products require installing shock-absorbing pads first to reduce vibration and noise.
Connect the Control Structure
- The reclining device usually comes with an adjustment lever, connect it to the adjustment dial on the underside or side of the chair armrest, leaving enough slack in the cable to ensure smooth adjustment.
- Some models require connecting a spring resistance device, attach the spring hooks to the corresponding catches on the base and reclining disc, adjusting the spring tension to change the damping feel of the reclining function to meet different users' needs for rocking intensity.
Test and Debug
- Stand the chair upright again, sit on it and try rocking back and forth to check if the reclining function can lock and unlock normally.
- If there is stuttering, readjust the screw positions; if pulling the adjustment lever has no effect, check if the cable is stuck or if the hooks have come loose.
- Avoid over-tightening screws during installation to prevent screw slippage or base deformation; if the chair base is made of metal, it is recommended to place a cloth underneath before operating to prevent scratches.
II. Functional Features
Some office chairs feature diverse designs in their reclining modes. For example, the Henglin Counterattacker upgraded version has a maximum recline angle of 130 degrees and supports four-level locking, allowing users to fix the backrest angle according to their needs; it also comes with a hidden pull-out footrest to provide leg support and enhance comfort during prolonged sitting.
