Office Chair Reclining Broken
The reclining function of the office chair is broken and needs to be addressed according to the specific cause. Here are the common causes and solutions:

1. Improper Operation
If the control lever is not fully pulled out or accidentally gets stuck below the fixing hole, causing it to lock, you need to forcefully pull out the control lever under the seat completely, keep it pulled out to reset the backrest, and then push it back into the fixing hole to lock the angle. If the mechanism feels stiff during operation, you can apply lubricant (such as WD-40) to the connection shaft of the control lever and the gaps in the chassis to reduce friction.
2. Foreign Object Blockage
Check areas such as the bottom hinge of the backrest and the gaps in the chassis, and clear away any foreign objects like tangled data cables or loose clothing. If the foreign object is stuck deeply, you need to flip the chair and use tweezers or a thin, long tool to assist in removal. Avoid pulling forcefully to prevent further damage to the components.
3. Mechanical Component Failure
- Hydraulic System/Small Gas Cylinder Failure: Gently press the thin end of the gas cylinder. If you can't feel the air pressure or the gas cylinder can easily retract, you need to replace it with a new one.
- Lock Block/Lock Tongue Failure: If the lock tongue is worn, broken, or moves abnormally, you need to disassemble the chassis to check the lock block structure and replace the damaged lock tongue or lock block assembly.
- Spring Failure: If you feel that the spring is weak when manually assisting in resetting, you need to replace the thick spring that provides the reset tension.
- Wire Control Switch Problem: Open the wire control to observe if it closes automatically. If the wire control is loose, adjust the nut to lengthen the distance; if it is broken, replace it with a new one; if it is unhooked, re-attach the terminal.
- Control Paddle or Lock Post Deformation: If the metal paddle is broken or the lock post is bent, you need to contact a professional repair technician to replace the deformed components to avoid structural imbalance caused by self-repair.
4. Product Quality or Usage Issues
- Design/Manufacturing Defects: If the chair has quality issues such as an unstable center of gravity or an insecure structure, you need to collect evidence such as purchase receipts and photos of the damage, negotiate compensation with the manufacturer or seller, and if negotiation fails, you can file a lawsuit in court.
- Overweight or Improper Use: If the damage is caused by being overweight or using the chair on an unstable surface, you need to bear the repair costs yourself and strictly follow the weight limit and surface requirements in the user instructions.
If self-help is ineffective, it is recommended to contact the brand's after-sales service or a professional repair agency to avoid expanding the damage range due to improper operation.
