Office Chair Recline Adjustment
Different brands and models of office chairs have varying recline adjustment methods, which need to be operated according to their specific designs. Here are some common adjustment methods and key operating points:

1. Eight-axis Linkage Chassis Adjustment
Some high-end office chairs (such as the ErgoHuman Elite X) feature an eight-axis linkage chassis design. When reclining, the mechanical linkage of the chassis enables a smooth transition. These chairs typically do not require manual angle locking; users simply need to lean back, and the backrest will automatically adjust its tilt angle based on the user's weight and leaning force, providing progressive support. When reclining stops, the backrest will naturally fix at the current angle and automatically reset when the user stands up. The core of operation is to control the recline amplitude with body weight, without the need for additional locking actions.
2. Pull-and-Press Fixed Adjustment
Some computer chairs employ a "pull-and-press" locking mechanism. To adjust, first pull up the control lever under the backrest or seat to unlock the recline function; then lean back to the desired angle and press down the control lever to secure it. To return to an upright position, pull up the control lever again, adjust the backrest angle, and press down to lock it. The key point is the continuity of pulling and pressing to avoid angle changes due to sudden standing up when not secured.
3. Under-seat Regulator Control
Some executive chairs are equipped with an independent regulator (usually a lever or knob) under the seat. To adjust, perform two actions simultaneously: pull up the regulator with one hand while pushing the backrest backward with the other hand. Release the regulator to lock it at the desired angle. To return to an upright position, pull up the regulator again and slowly straighten the backrest. This method requires hand coordination and is suitable for scenarios requiring precise control of the recline amplitude.
4. Button Lock/Unlock Adjustment
Some staff chairs feature a button design with a push-pull button on the side or under the seat. Pushing the button inward locks it, allowing only seat height adjustment; pulling the button outward unlocks the recline function, enabling users to freely adjust the backrest angle and then push the button back in to lock it at the desired position. When operating, pay attention to the button direction to avoid accidental angle changes due to misoperation.
Precautions:
- Before adjusting, confirm the chair's weight capacity; exceeding it may damage the mechanical structure.
- Maintain body balance when reclining to avoid the risk of tipping over due to sudden force.
- After long-term use, regularly check the tightness of adjustment components (such as screws and springs) to ensure normal function.
- If the adjustment mechanism is stuck, do not force it; contact after-sales service for inspection and repair.
