Office Chair Recall
Recently, there have been two recall incidents of office chairs made in China in the United States and Canada. Details are as follows:

First Recall: On March 2, 2023, the United States and Canada implemented recall measures for office chairs made in China. The reason for this recall is that the backrests of these office chairs may pose a risk of breaking, leading to a potential fall hazard for users. According to relevant reports, 12 reports related to this issue have been received, including 10 injury reports. This incident highlights the stringent requirements for structural safety in the design and production of office chairs. Any potential defects in components can cause serious harm to users, so recalls are necessary measures to prevent more similar incidents from occurring.
Second Recall: On January 16, 2025, the U.S. CPSC once again recalled the WorkPro Momentum office chairs made in China. The recalled products are ergonomic chairs, involving black model 8517865 and gray model 2864384, with model identification printed under the seat cushion. The problem lies in the bolts connecting the backrest and the base, which may fail, also posing a risk of causing users to fall. The recalled products were sold in the United States from October 2021 to September 2024, with approximately 64,000 units sold at a price of about $430 each. As of the recall, seven reports of consumers falling off the chairs had been received, with two minor injuries. The U.S. CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the product and contact Veyer to obtain a free repair kit to ensure consumer safety and prevent fall accidents caused by bolt failure.
These two recall incidents emphasize the importance of office chair safety and the responsibility of manufacturers and regulatory agencies in ensuring product safety.
