Office Chair Rebound Adjustment

Admin October 12, 2026

Office chair rebound adjustment can be achieved by checking the handle and base, troubleshooting the wired control switch, and assessing the state of the small gas cylinder.

Checking the Handle and Base: This is the fundamental operation for adjusting the rebound of an office chair. The handle is typically located on one side of the chair and functions to lock and unlock the backrest. When the handle is pulled to the right, the backrest is unlocked, allowing for free adjustment of the backrest angle. Conversely, when the handle is pushed to the left, the backrest is locked in place at the selected angle. On the base, there is usually a cylindrical knob that plays a crucial role in adjusting the rebound support force. Rotating this knob clockwise enhances the rebound support force of the backrest, enabling it to rebound more quickly and forcefully under pressure. Rotating it counterclockwise has the opposite effect, weakening the rebound support force and making the backrest's rebound more gentle. Users can adjust this knob appropriately based on their body weight, usage habits, and requirements for backrest support to achieve the most comfortable usage experience.

Troubleshooting the Wired Control Switch: If the office chair has a reclining function and the adjustment fails to work properly, the wired control switch needs to be checked. First, verify whether the switch closes automatically. If it does not, there may be issues such as looseness, breakage, or disconnection of the wired control. For loose cases, the position of the nut can be adjusted to secure the wired control. If the wired control is broken or disconnected, a new one needs to be replaced. Taking the Ergohuman E2Pro office chair as an example, by pulling back the right-side wired control handle and applying force backward, the reclining function can be activated. Then, by pulling the wired control handle forward to reset it, the reclining angle can be locked, enabling three-level reclining adjustment. During the rebound process, it is important not to directly lift your back away from the backrest to avoid affecting the adjustment effect and the chair's service life.

Assessing the State of the Small Gas Cylinder: The state of the small gas cylinder also affects the adjustment of the office chair's backrest. Determining whether the gas cylinder has gas is simple; just pinch the thin end of the gas cylinder with your hand and press it. If the gas cylinder can easily retract, it means there is no gas left inside, and a new gas cylinder needs to be replaced to ensure the normal adjustment and rebound of the chair's backrest.
