Office Chair PS Color Adjustment

Admin October 11, 2026

When adjusting the color of an office chair in Photoshop, you can choose an appropriate method based on the characteristics of the image. Here are the specific operation steps:

Quick Selection Tool + Hue/Saturation Adjustment

This method is suitable for images with a relatively clean background and distinct furniture outlines. First, create a selection of the furniture. Use the Quick Selection Tool (shortcut key W), hold down the left mouse button on the furniture surface and drag it. Adjust the brush diameter by pressing the "" keys on the keyboard. If there are extra areas selected, hold down the Alt key (Option key on Mac) and paint over the extra areas to deselect them. After creating the selection, click the "Select and Mask" button in the top options bar. In the pop-up window, adjust the view mode, smoothness, and feathering value to optimize the selection edge and make the selection fit the furniture outline better. Keep the selection active, click the "Create a new fill or adjustment layer" icon at the bottom of the Layers panel, and select "Hue/Saturation". In the Properties panel, drag the "Hue" slider to change the furniture color, and you can also fine-tune the saturation and brightness. If you want more precise adjustments, you can select the corresponding color channel for individual adjustments. For example, adjust only the red channel to make the red parts of the office chair more vivid or deeper.

Magic Wand Tool + Replace Color Function

This method is more suitable when the office chair is a solid color and there is a significant color difference from the background. Select the Magic Wand Tool (shortcut key W) and set the tolerance value in the top options bar. If the furniture edges are clear, set the tolerance to 20 - 32; if the color transition is delicate, lower it to 5 - 15. After setting, click the mouse in the furniture color area to create a selection. However, the search results do not fully introduce the subsequent operation steps of the Replace Color function. Usually, after creating the selection, you can find "Replace Color" through the "Adjustments" option in the "Image" menu. In the pop-up panel, further set parameters such as the target color to complete the color adjustment.

Pen Tool Outlining Adjustment

After opening the source image, use the pen path to draw along the highlights of the chair, change the mode to Overlay, and apply feathering to make the highlights more natural. For the reflections on the black surfaces, use the same outlining method to draw them. Then use the pen to outline the dark areas, outline them with a similar color, and apply appropriate feathering to enhance the three-dimensionality of the chair. After that, select "Selective Color" through the "Adjustments" option in the "Image" menu, and choose red, white, and black respectively to adjust the tones. Finally, stamp the layers, change the mode to Linear Light, and execute "High Pass" to complete the color adjustment, making the details of the office chair clearer and the colors richer.
