Protrusion Below the Office Chair
Protrusion below the office chair may be caused by abnormal gas lift rods, damaged chair legs, or deformed internal springs, and requires handling based on the specific situation.

Firstly, the most common scenario is the abnormal protrusion of the gas lift rod (gas spring). The cylindrical structure protruding below the computer chair is usually the gas lift rod, which is the core component for adjusting the chair's height and providing cushioning through the compression and release of high-pressure nitrogen gas inside. Under normal circumstances, the gas lift rod should maintain a reasonable distance from the chair legs. However, if the gas lift rod protrudes abnormally, even higher than the wheels, it may be due to damage to the five-star base causing the gas rod to sink. In this case, the chair's stability is severely compromised, posing risks of tipping over or failure in height adjustment. It is necessary to promptly contact professional repair personnel to replace the gas lift rod or the five-star base to avoid continuing to use it and triggering safety hazards.
Secondly, damaged chair legs may also be the cause of the protrusion. If the central hole of the chair legs becomes enlarged due to long-term use or external impact, or if the chair legs themselves develop cracks, fractures, or other damage, it can result in the gas rod being unable to be securely fixed, leading to sinking or displacement. In this case, it is necessary to check whether the chair legs are intact. If there is damage, it is necessary to replace the appropriate chair leg components. When replacing, it is important to choose products that match the specifications of the original chair legs to ensure a tight connection between the gas rod and the chair legs after installation, avoiding secondary damage caused by improper installation.
Finally, deformed internal springs in old chairs may also cause protrusion issues. Some old chairs use spring structures to provide cushioning. If the springs deform due to long-term pressure or material aging, they may protrude downward from the seat. This protrusion not only affects comfort but may also, due to the single-point hard pressure on the perineal area, chronically stimulate the bladder and trigger frequent urination and other health problems. If it is confirmed that the protrusion is caused by spring deformation, it is recommended to replace the chair or contact professional repair personnel to disassemble the chair, replace the deformed springs, and restore the chair's normal cushioning function.
