Office Chair Protective Packaging

Admin October 09, 2026

Office chair protective packaging requires steps such as disassembly, protection, securing, filling, and labeling to ensure safe transportation. The specific methods are as follows:

1. Disassembly and Component Handling
Prioritize disassembling foldable or detachable parts, such as gas cylinders, wheels, and backrest panels. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove screws. For swivel chairs, invert them and pry open the clips to remove the wheels. Small components like screws, after disassembly, should be placed in sealed bags and attached to the corresponding parts with tape or screwed back into their original holes to prevent loss. If components are foldable, adjust them to their smallest volume to reduce space occupation.

2. Edge and Surface Protection

  • Impact Protection: Wrap the corners with foam impact strips, cutting 30cm strips and wrapping them in a spiral pattern. Use 5cm-wide bubble wrap, wrapping at least 5 layers, focusing on covering protruding parts like chair corners and armrests.
  • Surface Protection: For genuine leather or wooden surfaces, first cover them with a layer of soft cloth, then wrap them with bubble wrap to prevent marks from friction. When packing plastic chairs in summer, place corrugated paper between the legs and the seat to prevent adhesion due to high temperatures.

3. Overall Securing
Starting from the bottom of the chair legs, wrap upwards in a spiral pattern with stretch wrap or cling film, focusing on wrapping vulnerable parts like gas cylinders. For long benches, use a โ€œ#โ€ wrapping method at both ends to enhance securing. For folded chairs, wrap them with stretch film 3 times to prevent them from coming apart during transportation.

4. Packing and Filling

  • Box Selection: Choose five-ply corrugated cardboard boxes. When placing the chair, invert it (legs facing up) and place foam blocks or crumpled old newspapers at the bottom as fillers.
  • Stable Filling: After placing the wrapped chair, continue to stuff fillers until it is solid, focusing on cushioning the connection between the backrest and the seat. Fill any gaps in the box with crumpled old newspapers to prevent component movement.
  • Box Sealing Requirements: When sealing the box with tape, apply at least two horizontal and two vertical strips, especially reinforcing the bottom and seams of the box.

5. Labeling and Warnings
Mark โ€œโ†‘ This Side Upโ€ on the box with a thick marker pen. Attach red warning tape to fragile components. Alternatively, mark โ€œFragileโ€ and the โ€œUpโ€ direction on the front of the box to remind handlers of proper operation.

Upgraded Solution: Use a full set of corrugated cardboard inserts instead of plastic bags to secure each component through positioning, further reducing the risk of็ฃ•็ขฐ (bumps and impacts) during transportation.
