Production of Office Chairs in Rooms

Admin October 22, 2026

The production process of office chairs in rooms typically includes steps such as frame production, spring and support structure installation, leather cutting and processing, foam cushion cutting and sewing, frame wrapping and decoration, adjustment mechanism and base installation, and component installation.

  1. Frame Production: Workers first place square steel tubes into a hydraulic press to bend them into square base cushion frames with rounded corners at the four corners. The support steel plates are welded to the frame openings. For swivel office chairs, a sturdy base needs to be welded, and steel springs are installed from the front, with support frames inserted between the springs. After completing the seat frame, the backrest frame of the chair is welded.
  2. Spring and Support Structure Installation: S-shaped springs are hooked onto the frame, and three support steel bars are connected to the springs in opposite directions to complete the internal structure of the base cushion. Alternatively, S-shaped steel springs can be hung from the front to the back of the seat frame, with crossbars placed and clamped onto the springs to increase stability and support.
  3. Leather Cutting and Processing: Plastic templates for components such as headrests and armrests are placed on top of the leather. A utility knife is used to cut out pieces of black leather according to the template patterns, which serve as the surface material for wrapping the components. Workers smooth out the leather to lay it evenly on the cutting table, cut the patterns according to the cardboard templates, and work around natural flaws in the leather.
  4. Foam Cushion Cutting and Sewing: The leather is glued to a relatively hard foam cushion, and a slightly larger foam cushion is cut out for making the seat cushion and backrest. To ensure comfort, a softer, fluffy foam cushion is used. It is first cut into a large square and then cut into connected, non-separated rectangles at measured intervals. Marks are then made on the leather, and it is pleated and sewn to form the basic shape of the seat backrest's leather surface. The leather and decorations of the seat cushion are then sewn together to increase comfort and aesthetics. For swivel office chairs, the densities of the foam in the chairs vary, with soft foam used for cushioning and hard foam used for shaping the chair's twist. The leather is divided according to size and sewn together with the foam.
  5. Frame Wrapping and Decoration: The surface of the metal frame is wrapped with foam cushions, and then the sewn leather cover is placed over it for decoration. The cover plate and the frame are fixed with screws.
  6. Adjustment Mechanism and Base Installation: Adjustable armrests that can change height, hydraulic rods, pneumatic rods, and the bottom support rods of the seat areๆ‹ผๆŽฅ (joined) together with the metal base to ensure that the office chair can be freely raised and lowered. For swivel office chairs, a hydraulic rod for the lifting valve seat is installed, which can not only control the chair's lifting but also enable it to rotate 360 degrees. Finally, an aluminum base and casters are installed.
  7. Component Installation: The wheels of the seat are installed at the bottom, and then the headrest and armrests are inserted into specific positions. For swivel office chairs, the headrest and armrest parts are installed.
