Office Chair Production
The production process of office chairs involves multiple steps, including frame fabrication, fabric processing, component machining, and quality inspection.

Frame fabrication is the foundation of office chair production. First, workers use hydraulic-powered machines to bend steel tubes into shape, creating the frame for the bottom cushion and connecting the ends, welding steel bars to support the seat adjustment mechanism. Next, S-shaped steel springs are hung from the front to the back of the seat frame to provide elastic support, and crossbars are placed horizontally to increase stability. Subsequently, the back frame of the chair is constructed, including components such as the spine and armrest attachments, and the burrs on the steel are ground smooth to ensure a smooth surface and prevent scratches to the user.
The fabric processing stage focuses on details and comfort. Workers smooth the leather, cut patterns according to templates, and work around natural flaws to ensure consistent color and texture across each piece of leather. At the same time, the foam pads for the back of the chair are cut, with the foam density controlled to provide comfortable support and avoid being too hard or too soft, which would affect the user experience.
Component machining includes steps such as cutting steel tubes, pressing and bending them into shape, welding the footrests, and installing the caster brackets. The footrests undergo processes such as pickling, grinding, polishing, and galvanizing to ensure aesthetics and durability. These treatments not only enhance the corrosion resistance of the footrests but also increase their surface gloss, improving the overall quality of the product.
Quality inspection is a crucial step in the production process. Office chair manufacturing requires passing tests for frame strength, foam density, and gas spring certification to ensure the products meet safety standards. Some high-end products also incorporate innovative designs such as intelligent lumbar support systems and heat therapy technology to further enhance comfort and functionality.
In terms of production bases, Shunde in Guangdong Province and Anji in Zhejiang Province, China, are the main production bases for computer chairs (office chairs), boasting a complete industrial chain and advanced production technologies capable of meeting domestic and international market demands. Enterprises in these regions focus on technological innovation and quality control, driving the continuous development of the office chair industry.
