Office Chair Processing Flow

Admin October 09, 2026

The processing flow of office chairs involves multiple key steps, as detailed below:

1. Frame Production and Basic Structure Construction

  1. Frame Production: Square steel tubes or No. 14 steel tubes are bent into square base frames with rounded corners using a hydraulic press. Support steel plates are welded to the frame openings, and in some processes, steel bars are welded in the middle of the frame and S-shaped steel springs are hung, with horizontal bars placed to enhance stability.
  2. Internal Structure Construction: After fixing the S-shaped springs to the frame, three reverse support steel bars are connected to form the internal structure of the base, ensuring even weight distribution of the seat.
  3. Component Welding and Polishing: Metal components such as armrest joints and backrests are welded, and burrs are removed through polishing to improve surface smoothness.

2. Soft Material Processing and Cutting

  1. Leather Cutting: A plastic template is placed over the leather surface, and a utility knife is used to cut out leather covers for components such as headrests and armrests along the template. The leather positions need to be planned reasonably to minimize waste.
  2. Foam Processing: Foam cushions slightly larger than the leather dimensions are cut, or fluffy foam pads are first cut into connected rectangular blocks for use in seat cushions and backrests; in some processes, particle boards are installed between the foam and the outer cover to enhance stability.

3. Component Assembly and Sewing

  1. Leather Pleating Sewing and Component Stitching: Marks are made on the leather at the same intervals as the foam pads, and pleating is sewn to form the shape of the backrest, followed by stitching the seat leather and decorative components.
  2. Frame Wrapping and Decoration: The metal frame is wrapped with foam pads, and then the sewn leather cover is placed over the frame surface to complete the preliminary decoration.
  3. Carpentry Work: This includes receiving materials and checking specifications, cutting materials according to templates, positioning and drilling holes in shelves, polishing the edges of curved boards and installing corner brackets, and finally storing qualified curved boards.

4. Support Structure and Functional Component Installation

  1. Support Structure Assembly: The shield plate and the frame are fixed with screws, and components such as adjustable armrests, hydraulic rods, pneumatic rods, and bottom support rods are assembled to ensure the seat can be freely raised, lowered, and rotated.
  2. Wheel Installation and Component Assembly: Movable wheels are installed at the bottom of the seat, and headrests and armrests are inserted into designated positions. In some processes, covers are added to the base and screw holes are reserved for connecting the support structure.

5. Foam Application and Leather Sewing Process

  1. Foam Application: Glue is sprayed to adhere the foam to the seat board, which is then pressed and the finished product is stored.
  2. Leather Sewing: This includes trimming the leather for symmetry, checking the corners during foam application, sewing the leather (with a seam allowance of โ‰ค1.2 cm), double-needle stitching (with a stitch spacing of 3 cm and 5 stitches), matching the upper edge with the fabric color, and keeping the connecting components' lines straight, ultimately completing the surface covering of the seat.
