Office Chair Process Flow

Admin October 16, 2026

The process flow of making an office chair mainly includes the following steps:

I. Seat Cushion Production

  1. Making the Seat Cushion Frame: Select square steel tubes and place them into a hydraulic press to bend them into a square frame with rounded corners at the four corners. Then, weld the support steel plates to the openings of the frame to ensure the structural stability of the frame.
  2. Installing Springs and Support Bars: Hook S-shaped springs onto the frame and connect three support bars to the springs in opposite directions to complete the construction of the internal structure of the seat cushion, providing basic support and elasticity for the office chair.

II. Armrest Interface and Backrest Processing Use a production method similar to that of the seat cushion frame for the armrest interfaces and backrest of the chair. First, perform welding and then grinding to make the interfaces and backrest surface smooth, preventing scratches to users during use.

III. Exterior Part Production

  1. Leather Cutting: Place plastic templates for parts such as the headrest and armrests on top of the leather. Use a utility knife to cut out pieces of black leather according to the template patterns, ensuring that the shape and size of the leather meet the design requirements.
  2. Seat Cushion and Backrest Production: Glue the cut leather onto a relatively hard foam cushion and cut out a slightly larger foam pad along the size of the leather to produce the seat cushion and backrest parts of the office chair, providing a comfortable sitting and leaning experience.
  3. Backrest Leather Surface Treatment: Use a soft, fluffy foam pad. First, cut it into a large square and then cut it into connected but separate rectangles along the measured spacing. After marking on the leather, perform pleated stitching on the leather to form the basic shape of the leather surface of the chair backrest, increasing its aesthetic appeal and three-dimensionality.
  4. Seat Cushion Decorative Stitching: Stitch the leather of the seat cushion and the decorative elements together to further enhance the comfort and aesthetic appeal of the seat.

IV. Metal Frame Processing Wrap the surface of the metal frame with foam pads and then cover it with the stitched leather for decoration, making the overall appearance of the office chair more attractive.

V. Component Assembly

  1. Fix the shield and the frame with screws to ensure structural stability.
  2. Connect the adjustable-height armrests, hydraulic rods, pneumatic rods, and the bottom support rods of the seat to the metal base to ensure that the office chair can be freely adjusted in height to meet the needs of different users.
  3. Install the wheels of the seat at the bottom and insert the headrest and armrests into specific positions to complete the overall assembly of the office chair. Some office chair installation processes also include inserting the wheels into the footrest, placing it vertically, fixing the armrests and seat cushion with long screws, assembling the back steel tube with the backrest using long screws, and connecting the headrest with the headrest knob, etc.
