Office Chair Pressure Release

Admin October 12, 2026

The pressure release of an office chair can be carried out according to the following steps:

I. Preparation Before Operation

Before starting the pressure release operation, ensure that the surrounding environment is safe. Fragile items should not be placed around the pneumatic rod, and measures should be taken to avoid potential injury risks to personnel during the operation. Since there is high-pressure gas inside the pneumatic rod, improper release may cause harm to the skin. Therefore, exercise caution during the operation. If you are unfamiliar with the pressure release operation of the pneumatic rod or unsure how to adjust the pressure to an appropriate level, it is recommended to seek help from professionals or carefully consult the relevant instruction manual to ensure the safety and accuracy of the operation.

II. Specific Operation Steps

  1. Locate the Pressure Release Port or Button: Most pneumatic rods are equipped with a dedicated pressure release port, usually located at the bottom or side of the rod. After locating the port, use an appropriate tool to gently unscrew it. Additionally, some pneumatic office chairs release gas through a small button located underneath the chair. Simply press this button, and the gas will be slowly released.
  2. Release Gas Slowly: After opening the pressure release port or pressing the button, gently press the pneumatic rod to allow the gas to be released slowly. During this process, carefully control the speed and force of gas release to avoid a rapid decrease in pressure, which could lead to instability in the chair's structure and pose safety hazards.
  3. Monitor Pressure Changes: As the gas is released, the pressure will gradually decrease. At this time, continuously observe the changes in pressure to ensure it decreases to an appropriate level. Generally, when sitting on the office chair feels comfortable and it does not suddenly sink, it indicates that the pressure has been adjusted to an appropriate level.
  4. Close the Pressure Release Port: After completing the pressure release operation, ensure that the pressure release port is closed to prevent further gas leakage. Additionally, check the sealing of the port to ensure it closes tightly, avoiding pressure instability during subsequent use.
