Office Chair Powder Coating

Admin October 08, 2026

Office chair powder coating typically employs electrostatic powder coating technology, which involves using an electric field to adsorb epoxy or polyester powder onto metal surfaces, followed by high-temperature curing to form a protective film as a surface treatment technique.

Process Principles and Characteristics

The core principle of electrostatic powder coating is to use a high-voltage electric field to charge powder particles, which are then uniformly adsorbed onto grounded metal workpieces under the influence of the electric field. This process does not rely on airflow for delivery, enabling it to cover corners, welds, and other areas that are difficult to reach with traditional spray painting. For example, the dead corners of the five-star base of an office chair can be coated without any omissions using equipment such as the Hanzhe electrostatic powder coating gun. After curing, the powder forms a dense chemically bonded layer that offers significantly better scratch and corrosion resistance than ordinary spray paint, extending the lifespan of furniture. Additionally, the powder contains no organic solvents and leaves no volatile residues after curing, meeting indoor environmental standards. It also supports a wide range of color customization options, enhancing the visual appeal of furniture.

Application Scenarios and Construction Requirements

This process is widely used for surface treatment of indoor metal furniture such as office desks, conference tables, and restaurant chairs and tables. Two key conditions must be met during construction:

  1. Environmental Control: The spray coating workshop must be kept dry and dust-free to prevent dust or moisture from affecting powder adsorption.
  2. Curing Parameters: The curing temperature is typically controlled between 180-200ยฐC for 10-15 minutes to ensure the powder fully melts, flows evenly, and forms a stable coating. Insufficient temperature or time may result in reduced coating adhesion, while excessive temperature can cause substrate deformation or powder decomposition.

Equipment Support and Efficiency Optimization

The large cyclone rapid color-changing powder booth is the core equipment of the spray coating line. It utilizes centrifugal separation technology to achieve efficient recovery and recycling of powder, with a recovery rate exceeding 95%, significantly reducing material consumption. The booth is also equipped with an independent exhaust system to reduce dust concentration in the workshop and protect worker health. Furthermore, its modular design supports rapid color changes, meeting the production needs of multiple varieties and small batches, and improving overall production efficiency.
