The Post of the Office Chair is Loose
If the post of the office chair is loose, targeted repair measures can be taken according to different situations.

If the screws at the connection between the post and the seat frame are loose, which is a relatively common situation, first determine the type of screws. Use a Phillips screwdriver for Phillips-head screws and a flat-head screwdriver for flat-head screws. After finding the appropriate screwdriver, tighten the screws in a clockwise direction. However, if the screws are stripped and cannot be tightened, wrap 1 - 2 turns of Teflon tape around the screw rod or add a small washer. This can increase the friction between the screw and the screw hole. Then, drizzle a small amount of 502 glue into the screw hole. Be careful not to drip it onto the surface of the chair to avoid damaging the chair's appearance. After drizzling the glue, quickly screw the screw in.
For wooden office chairs, if the mortise-and-tenon joint between the post and the seat frame is cracked and loose, the repair steps are relatively more complex. First, use a small brush or other tools to clean the dust in the gaps to ensure the gaps are clean. Then, squeeze an appropriate amount of white glue into the gaps. White glue has good adhesive properties. Next, align the cracked parts and fix them with clamps or ropes. Let it sit for 24 hours to allow the white glue to dry completely. In this way, the mortise-and-tenon joint will be firmly bonded together. Finally, remove the fixing tools.
There is also a simple method suitable for office chairs of various materials. Cut a small piece of waste fabric, rubber pad, or thick cardboard and insert it into the gap between the post and the seat surface. Then, gently tap it with a hammer to make the inserted material fit tightly against the post and the seat surface, thus providing reinforcement.
For metal chairs, to facilitate subsequent screw tightening, regularly apply candle wax or soap to the screws. These substances can act as lubricants, making it easier to tighten the screws and reducing the difficulty of tightening caused by rust and other reasons.
