Office Chair Placed by the Window

Admin October 16, 2026

Placing an office chair by the window poses risks of collision, susceptibility to mixed energies, and negative impacts on work mood, which can be mitigated by using high-backed chairs, installing bookshelves or screens, and adjusting desk positions.

Firstly, when an office chair is placed by the window, the back is directly exposed to the outside, posing a risk of collision due to the window being opened or external factors. For example, if the window is suddenly blown open by the wind, it may hit the back and cause physical injury. Moreover, as the intake point for a house, the window allows in various mixed energies that can affect a person's aura and fortune. Additionally, noise from the footsteps and laughter of passersby outside the window can also disrupt work mood, making it difficult to concentrate and reducing work efficiency.

To address these issues, there are several solutions:

  • Use high-backed chairs: The higher the chair back, the better. A high-backed chair can block to some extent the mixed energies and noise coming from the window, providing some protection for the back. At the same time, ensure the chair is comfortable and supportive to avoid affecting work performance due to discomfort.
  • Install bookshelves or screens: Place a bookshelf between the seating position and the window as a physical barrier. A bookshelf can not only block mixed energies and noise but also display work-related books or decorations, enhancing the cultural atmosphere of the office. Its height and width should be reasonably planned according to the office space to ensure both practicality and aesthetics. Alternatively, a screen can be placed between the seating position and the window. The material, color, and pattern of the screen can be chosen according to personal preference and office decor style, with an appropriate height that serves as a barrier without obstructing the view or ventilation.
  • Adjust the desk position: This is the most direct solution, ensuring the office chair is not placed by the window and thus avoiding the problems associated with it. The desk position can be replanned according to the office layout and lighting conditions to create a relatively quiet and comfortable work environment.
