Office Chair Parameter Requirements

Admin October 19, 2026

The parameter requirements for office chairs should be comprehensively considered from four dimensions: ergonomic fit, material safety, functional adjustability, and spatial and scenario matching. Details are as follows:

I. Ergonomic Size Fit
It is recommended to choose an adjustable seat height, ranging from 380-480mm, to accommodate users of different heights; the seat depth should be 400-440mm and adjustable to ensure natural thigh alignment; the seat width should be no less than 380mm to avoid prolonged sitting pressure. The backrest height should reach the lower edge of the scapula, with full-height models reaching up to 120 centimeters; the lumbar support should align with the third lumbar vertebra and support multi-dimensional adjustment up, down, forward, and backward; the headrest should cover the neutral position of the cervical spine, with dual adjustment for angle and height being preferable. The armrest height should be level with the desktop, with priority given to models that can be adjusted up and down and rotated forward and backward to avoid shrugging or elbow suspension.

II. Material Safety and Structural Reliability
The board should meet the E0 environmental standard (formaldehyde emission โ‰ค 0.05mg/mยณ) to ensure indoor air safety; the gas lift must pass third-party certifications such as SGS/TUV/BIFMA to prevent explosion risks; the frame should preferably be made of aluminum alloy or high-strength engineering plastics, with a load-bearing capacity of no less than 100kg; the mesh fabric should have good breathability, suitable for prolonged sitting; if a foam seat cushion is chosen, the density should be no less than 50kg/mยณ to ensure durability and support.

III. Practicality of Functional Adjustability
Core adjustment functions should cover seat height, seat depth, lumbar support, and armrests to meet basic fit requirements. For prolonged sitting scenarios, a recline angle of โ‰ฅ135ยฐ is recommended, along with dynamic lumbar tracking to distribute lumbar pressure. When purchasing in bulk with a limited budget, it is necessary to prioritize retaining seat cushion height and lumbar support height adjustment functions, with armrest height adjustment also recommended to balance cost and comfort.

IV. Spatial and Scenario Matching
The footprint of an office chair should not exceed half of the office area, with space reserved for walkways and collaboration. For open workstations, simple and easily combinable models are recommended, while independent offices can consider design aesthetics to a moderate extent; conference room furniture should also consider acoustic indicators, with a reverberation time preferably controlled between 0.4-0.6 seconds to avoid affecting communication efficiency.

The above parameters should be comprehensively weighed based on the actual usage scenario, user physique, and budget to ensure a balance between comfort, safety, and functionality of the office chair.
