Office Chair Painting Process
The office chair painting process mainly includes several key steps: surface sanding, primer treatment, coloring (if necessary), applying topcoat, applying the final coat of paint, and applying protective wax.

Surface Sanding: This is the foundational preparation for painting. Use sandpaper that matches the roughness and hardness of the wood surface to ensure that the paint adheres evenly to the office chair. When sanding, wear a dust mask, choose medium-grit sandpaper (60 - 100 grit), apply medium pressure, and sand in an overlapping pattern to prevent missed spots and ensure uniform sanding across the entire surface.
Primer Treatment: First, adjust the consistency of the primer according to the density of the wood. For hardwood, it can be appropriately thinned, while for softwood, it should be made thicker. When applying the primer, brush it evenly along the grain of the wood to avoid applying it too thickly. After the primer is completely dry, sand it until it feels smooth and has no protrusions, then wipe it several times with a damp soft cloth and dry it. Additionally, clean the surface of the stool, ensure it is completely dry, thoroughly mix the primer, dip the brush in, wipe off the excess primer on the inside lip of the can, and apply a thin layer of primer over the entire stool. Follow the instructions on the primer label; usually, applying multiple thin layers is more effective than applying a single thick layer.
Coloring (if necessary): If the office chair requires a specific color, proceed with the coloring step. During this process, the color mixing must be accurate, and the applied color should be uniform to ensure the final appearance quality of the office chair.
Applying Topcoat: First, apply the second coat of paint, ensuring it covers the first coat evenly. Then, lightly and uniformly sand it in the direction of the paint application using water sandpaper. Next, apply the third coat of paint, also ensuring even application, and then sand it with finer water sandpaper dipped in water. Pay attention to applying even pressure when sanding to avoid over-sanding, which could affect the flatness and aesthetics of the paint surface.
Applying the Final Coat of Paint and Protective Wax: No sanding is required. Simply apply the final coat of paint evenly. After the paint is dry, apply a layer of protective wax. This will increase the glossiness of the office chair surface, better protect the paint, and extend its service life.
