Office Chair Paint
The production processes, common types, and repair techniques related to office chair paint are as follows:

Production Processes:
If an office chair is of the painted type, its production processes mainly fall into two categories: varnish and mixed-color paint. The varnish process requires multiple sandings of the wooden surface to ensure it is smooth and flat before applying varnish. After each coat is applied, it must be fully dried and polished, ultimately forming a transparent or semi-transparent protective film that highlights the natural texture of the wood. The mixed-color paint process involves first repairing surface defects in the wood with putty, then alternately applying primer and topcoat. The primer is used to seal the wood pores and enhance adhesion, while the topcoat determines the final color and gloss. During construction, strict control of the ambient temperature (usually 15-30ยฐC) and cleanliness is necessary to prevent dust from adhering and affecting the paint quality.
Common Paint Types:
- Acrylic Resin Paint: With acrylic resin as the main film-forming substance, it has excellent weather resistance, can resist UV aging, and is suitable for office environments exposed to sunlight for long periods; its chemical stability is strong, making it less likely to react with acids and alkalis, thereby extending the service life of the office chair.
- Nitrocellulose Paint: With nitrocellulose as the main raw material, it dries quickly and forms a hard paint film shortly after application, making it suitable for the production of office chairs that require rapid delivery; however, its heat resistance is poor, and it should be avoided from prolonged contact with high-temperature environments.
- Polyester Varnish: It cures through the reaction between polyester resin and a curing agent, with extremely strong adhesion, tightly adhering to the wooden surface and reducing the risk of cracking; its high hardness effectively resists daily scratches, keeping the office chair's appearance clean.
- Epoxy Resin Paint: Composed of an epoxy resin and a curing agent in a two-component system, it has outstanding chemical corrosion resistance, can resist the erosion of common liquids in the office environment such as coffee and alcohol; its mechanical properties are excellent, and it can withstand significant pressure without deformation.
Repair Techniques:
When an office chair shows signs of paint peeling or scratches, furniture paint repair techniques are required. During the structural repair phase, check whether components such as casters, pneumatic pumps, and armrests are damaged and replace them if necessary; during the surface treatment phase, select paint materials according to the degree of damage:
- UV-Curing Coating: It cures quickly through UV irradiation, with high repair efficiency, suitable for small areas of paint peeling;
- Acid-Curing Coating: With acid as the catalyst, it has high hardness after curing and strong wear resistance, suitable for deep scratches;
- Polyurethane Coating: It has excellent comprehensive performance, combining wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and flexibility, and can cover larger areas of damage;
- Nitro Coating: It dries quickly, facilitating multiple applications to adjust the color, suitable for local paint repairs;
- Unsaturated Resin Coating: It cures through the cross-linking of unsaturated polyester and styrene, forming a high-strength paint film, suitable for repairing severely worn areas.
