Office Chair Packaging Steps
The steps for packaging an office chair are as follows:

Preparation
Prepare packaging materials and tools, including bubble wrap, stretch wrap, wrapping paper/old newspapers, cardboard boxes (recommended sizes: 60x40x50cm or 50x40x40cm), dust covers/disposable tablecloths, wide tape, parts bags/sealed plastic bags, markers, and label stickers, etc. If disassembly is required, prepare auxiliary tools such as rubber mallets. Wipe the chair with a cloth before moving to prevent dust from affecting the packaging effect.Determine Whether to Disassemble
- Pack without disassembly: Suitable for situations where the moving corridor and transportation vehicle have ample space, the chair has a simple structure or is complex to disassemble, and quick packaging is needed. Simply wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap and stretch wrap.
- Pack after disassembly: Suitable for situations where moving space is limited, the chair is of high value or has a precise structure, and long-distance transportation or long-term storage is required. The simple decision-making process is: evaluate moving space โ examine the complexity of the chair's structure โ consider the chair's value โ weigh available time. If two of the first three factors indicate the need for more cautious protection, disassembly is recommended.
Disassembly (if necessary)
Follow the logical order of "from the outside in, from top to bottom, and reverse assembly". First, lay the chair down and disassemble it on a flat, soft surface to avoid scratching the components.Packaging
- Wrap all components such as the chair body, backrest, and legs with bubble wrap to ensure cushioning and shock absorption.
- Wrap the outer layer of the bubble wrap with stretch wrap to secure the materials, prevent them from loosening, and protect against dust and dirt.
- Wrap components with easily scratched finishes or those that need special protection against dirt (such as fabric parts) with wrapping paper/old newspapers.
- Place the disassembled parts in a cardboard box. If the original packaging is intact, it can be used directly; otherwise, cut cardboard to make an outer packaging and use hard corner protectors to protect the edges. For valuable chairs, a framed wooden box can be made, and the interior can be filled with foam or clothing to reduce gaps.
- Seal the cardboard box with wide tape and secure the edges of the packaging materials.
- Place small parts such as screws and washers in parts bags/sealed plastic bags to prevent loss.
Labeling
Use markers and label stickers to mark the packaged components or parts bags for easy identification during reassembly.Other Precautions
- Wrap the stretch wrap and bubble wrap at least three to five layers, and ensure that special parts such as chair legs are wrapped tightly.
- Avoid using the armrests as the point of force when moving; it is recommended to lift the chair by the seat.
- For large chairs, measure the length, width, and height before moving to determine if they can fit in elevators and staircases, and plan the moving route in advance.
