Office Chair Packaging Solution

Admin October 10, 2026

The office chair packaging solution should follow general steps and be adapted according to the type of chair, as detailed below:

I. General Packaging Steps

  1. Cleaning
Thoroughly wipe the surface of the chair with a dry cloth, including the armrests, backrest, legs, and other parts, to prevent dust residue from causing slippage during handling or contaminating the new environment. If there are stubborn stains on the chair's surface, use a neutral cleaner for local treatment and then dry it.

  2. Disassembly and Protection

  • Disassemblable Chairs: Disassemble the components (such as legs, armrests, wheels, etc.) step by step according to the instructions. Wrap each component separately with stretch film to prevent scratches on the surface during handling.
  • Non-disassemblable Chairs: Wrap the entire chair surface directly with stretch film from the bottom up in a spiral manner, ensuring no exposed areas.
  1. Cushioning and Wrapping
  • Overall Wrapping: Wrap the chair horizontally with bubble wrap for two circles and then vertically, covering at least three to five layers. Focus on protecting large areas such as the backrest and seat.
  • Handling of Protruding Parts: Extra layers of bubble wrap (2-3 circles) should be used for vulnerable parts like legs and armrests. Insert small pearl cotton or foam blocks at the corners to prevent็ฃ•็ขฐ (collision and deformation).
  • Wheel Handling: For chairs with wheels, remove the wheels separately, place them in a dedicated plastic bag, and seal it to prevent loss or scratches to other components.
  1. Boxing and Fixing
  • Utilizing Original Packaging: If the original packaging is intact, place the packed chair directly into the original cardboard box, ensuring there are no gaps between the chair and the box walls.
  • Homemade Packaging: If the original packaging is lost, cut cardboard to make an outer packaging. Protect the edges and corners with hard corner protectors. Fill the gaps inside the cardboard box with waste paper or foam blocks, and finally fix the box with wide tape in a cross pattern. Do not use thin ropes for binding.
  • Handling of Valuable Chairs: For valuable chairs such as rosewood or solid wood, make a frame-type wooden box according to the size. Fill the inside with foam or old clothes to reduce the gap between the chair and the box walls and prevent shaking.
  1. Labeling and Reminders
Attach labels on the outside of the packaging, indicating words like 'Fragile' or 'Valuable' to remind handlers to handle with care. If sending by express delivery, additionally mark 'Fragile Items' on the outside of the cardboard box and paste directional arrows.

II. Adaptation for Special Chairs

  1. Large-sized Chairs: For folding chairs, gaming chairs, etc., disassemble components such as legs and armrests first, and pack them separately to reduce overall space occupation, facilitating handling and storage.
  2. Chairs with Metal Fittings: Metal parts (such as screws, brackets) should be wrapped separately with flannel to avoid direct contact with plastic or painted parts, preventing scratches from friction.
  3. Mailing Precautions: In addition to marking 'Fragile Items', it is recommended to choose reinforced packaging services and wrap an additional layer of waterproof film on the outside to prevent damage from moisture during transportation.
