Office Chair Packaging
You can refer to the following steps for packaging office chairs:

I. Prepare Materials You need to prepare bubble wrap, stretch wrap/stretch film, cardboard boxes (recommended sizes: 60x40x50cm or 50x40x40cm), wide tape, accessory bags/sealed plastic bags, markers, and label paper. If the chair is detachable, you also need to prepare tools such as screwdrivers.
II. Determine Whether to Disassemble
- Packaging without Disassembly: If the moving passage and transportation vehicle have ample space, the chair has a simple structure or is complex to disassemble, and you need to complete the packaging quickly, you can directly wrap the entire chair with multiple layers of bubble wrap and stretch wrap.
- Packaging after Disassembly: If the moving space is limited, the chair has a high value or a precise structure, and it needs to be transported over a long distance or stored for a long time, it is recommended to disassemble it before packaging. When disassembling, follow the logical order of โfrom the outside in, from the top down, and in reverse order of assemblyโ. For example, for an office chair, you can first remove the backrest panel (using a cross-head screwdriver to unscrew the screws), and for a swivel chair, remove the casters (by inverting it and prying open the snaps). Put the small parts such as screws after disassembly into sealed bags and attach them to the corresponding components with tape to avoid loss.
III. Wrap for Protection
- Bubble Wrap Wrapping: First, roughly wrap the entire chair with bubble wrap, focusing on wrapping the protruding and easily bumped parts such as the chair legs and armrests. If the chair surface is made of genuine leather or wood, cover it with a layer of soft cloth first, and then wrap it with bubble wrap to prevent marks from friction.
- Stretch Wrap Reinforcement: Start spiraling the stretch wrap upwards from the bottom of the chair legs. For office chairs, focus on wrapping the pneumatic rod part. For long benches, use the โ#โ wrapping method at both ends to strengthen it and prevent the wrapping material from loosening.
IV. Pack and Seal the Box
- Fill and Secure: Place foam blocks or crumpled old newspapers at the bottom of the cardboard box. Put the wrapped chair into the box, ensuring there is space around it. Continue to stuff filling materials until it is firmly secured to prevent movement during transportation.
- Seal the Box and Mark: Seal the box with tape, sticking at least two horizontal and two vertical strips. Pay special attention to sealing the bottom and seams of the box firmly. Mark โFragileโ and the โThis Side Upโ direction on the front of the box to remind the movers.
V. Other Precautions Most logistics companies offer professional packaging services. For heavy chairs that need to be transported on wooden frames, it is recommended to entrust them to professionals. When packaging by yourself, you can stick 3M buffer pads at each contact point to reduce wear and tear.
