Original Parts of Office Chairs
Admin October 09, 2026
The original parts of office chairs mainly include two categories: basic components and common accessories.

Basic components are the core that constitute the function and structure of office chairs, typically including the following parts:
- Casters: As the moving device, installed at the bottom of the chair legs, enabling the chair to slide flexibly. Their materials are mostly hard plastics or rubber, requiring wear resistance and quietness to adapt to different floor environments.
- Five-claw (five-star) base: The frame structure that supports the chair body, usually made of metal or high-strength plastic, distributed in a five-claw star shape to ensure the stability of the chair. Some high-end products use aluminum alloy materials to enhance load-bearing capacity.
- Gas lift: The core component connecting the base and the seat, achieving seat height adjustment through gas pressure regulation. It is necessary to choose explosion-proof four-stage gas lifts that meet safety standards to avoid the risk of explosion due to abnormal pressure.
- Base plate: The control center that integrates seat rotation and tilt adjustment functions, usually containing a square turntable structure, achieving multi-angle adjustment through gears or hydraulic systems. Some base plates are also equipped with locking devices to fix the sitting posture.
Common accessories are used to expand functions or enhance comfort, including:
- Height adjustment rod: Assists the gas lift in achieving more precise height adjustment, commonly used in scenarios that require frequent sitting posture adjustments.
- Footrest telescopic tube: Installed at the front of the chair body, providing leg support through a telescopic structure, suitable for lunch breaks or long-term office scenarios.
- Foot pads: Anti-slip components covering the bottom of the chair legs, reducing moving noise and protecting the floor, mostly made of rubber or silicone.
- Headrest bracket: A metal or plastic component connecting the chair back and the headrest, supporting headrest height and angle adjustment to relieve neck pressure.
- Back angle bracket: A connector that fixes the chair back and the seat, ensuring structural stability through bolt or snap-fit structures. Some products adopt adjustable designs to adapt to different body types.
- Foot covers: Soft components wrapped around the ends of the chair legs, further enhancing anti-slip performance and preventing the metal base from scratching the floor.
These accessories are combined through modular design to form a complete office chair system. When purchasing, it is necessary to focus on the safety certification of the gas lift, the adjustment range of the base plate, and the load-bearing capacity of the base to ensure safety and comfort during use.
