Office Chair Orientation
Admin October 08, 2026
The choice of office chair orientation should take into account various factors such as the type of leader, the company's development direction, employee positions, and general Feng Shui recommendations.

Leader's Office Chair Orientation
Different types of leaders and company development directions correspond to different orientations:
- Sitting East or Southeast: Suitable for young leaders who plan to establish a new company or expand an existing one. This orientation is conducive to the company's development and expansion.
- Sitting Southwest to Northeast: Suitable for leaders in industries similar to ore mining, representing competition, wise investment, and challenging work. This orientation aligns with the characteristics of such industries.
- Sitting West to East: Suitable for leaders in software development engineering and market development companies. The east symbolizes a good start and rapid development, meeting industry needs.
- Sitting South to North: Suitable for leaders in administrative departments, indicating their proficiency in interpersonal communication and a desire for improvement.
- Sitting Northwest: Suitable for leaders who aim for stable development, have long-term plans, and want to maintain good relationships with their subordinates.
- Sitting Northeast or Southwest: Suitable for leaders in marketing companies, aiding in business expansion.
- Sitting North to South: Suitable for leaders in mass media, sales, and fashion industries. The south represents enthusiasm and determination to overcome difficulties and win over the public.
- Sitting East to West: Suitable for leaders nearing retirement, especially those in investment and sales companies, indicating the company's financial strength or promising investment projects.
General Feng Shui Recommendations
- Sitting North to South: Considered the best Feng Shui position, potentially making tasks easier and more efficient. Bosses and management should prioritize quiet positions in the office with a view of the entrance, with sitting north to south or northwest to southeast being more stable choices.
- Back Support Requirements: The back of the seat should ideally be against a solid wall or high partition, avoiding back support against aisles, which is unfavorable for personal development, financial retention, and career luck.
- Facing Windows: Uncertain luck, as windows absorb Feng Shui effects, and external Feng Shui conditions are irregular, requiring caution. The seat should not be tightly against a wall or high cabinet, with an open view.
Employee Office Chair Orientation
- General Employees: Sitting east to west or south to north is more suitable, avoiding direct sunlight on the screen, with back support against a partition or wall, and away from public equipment. Financial positions must have back support against a solid wall and not face the door.
- Sales/Reception/Front Desk Positions: Suitable for sitting diagonally opposite the entrance, with back support against a solid wall and a view of incoming people for timely reception.
