Office Chair Not Wobbling

Admin October 16, 2026

If you want to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of an office chair not wobbling, you can start by checking the five-claw base and casters, the gas lift, and the connections between various components.

Firstly, check the five-claw base and casters. The five-claw base refers to the five legs of the chair. Carefully inspect whether it is intact without any cracks or significant deformations. Once there is an issue with the five-claw base, the overall stability of the chair will be compromised, potentially leading to wobbling. Meanwhile, check if all five casters are evenly in contact with the ground. If a caster is damaged or entangled with excessive hair, threads, or other debris, it may become suspended or roll poorly, causing the chair to wobble. In this case, clean the debris from the caster. If the caster is severely damaged, replace it with a new one.

Secondly, check the gas lift. The gas lift is a crucial component for the height adjustment and support of the office chair. Observe the connection points between the two ends of the gas lift and the chair seat and the five-star base to see if there are any signs of looseness. Try pressing the chair vertically. If you feel abnormal play or hear unusual noises during the pressing process, it is likely that the gas lift has internal wear or does not fit tightly with the interfaces. In such cases, it is not advisable to handle it yourself. It is best to contact after-sales service or a professional to replace the gas lift to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Finally, check the connections between various components. An office chair is assembled from multiple components. Over long-term use, the screws and bolts connecting these components may gradually loosen due to vibrations. Use appropriate tools, such as an Allen wrench, to inspect and tighten all visible connecting screws, including those between the chair seat and the gas rod, the armrests and the chair seat, and the chair back and the chair seat. By tightening these screws, you can enhance the connection stability between the chair components and effectively resolve the issue of chair wobbling.
