Office Chair Not Rebounding
The inability of an office chair to rebound may be caused by mechanical jamming, airbag failure, damage to the adjustment mechanism, or other mechanical issues, requiring targeted solutions based on the specific cause.

Mechanical Jamming
Mechanical jamming is a common reason why an office chair fails to rebound, typically triggered by the following situations:
- Seat switch not reset: Check if the switch or lock under the seat is in a locked position and try to fully reset it.
- Sliding rail or adjustment lever jamming: Clear any foreign objects (such as coins, keys, etc.) from the sliding rail or tap the backrest firmly to release the jam. For the recline adjustment lever, operate according to the type of chair:
- Lever-adjustment system chair: Fully pull out the control lever, and the backrest will automatically return to its position under spring action; if it does not reset, assist by pushing the backrest forward to an upright position, then push the control lever into the locking pin hole.
- Gas-lift adjustment chair: Locate the adjustment handle under the chair, pull it upward (or press the side button), lean forward with your body to reset the backrest, release the handle, and then re-fix the angle.
- Knob-adjustment chair: Rotate the knob on the side or rear of the seat counterclockwise to unlock or reduce the recline resistance, lean forward to reset.
Airbag Failure (for airbag-equipped chairs only)
If the chair uses an airbag design, air leakage can prevent it from rebounding. Focus on checking whether the air control valve and switch at the bottom of the seat are functioning properly. If the issue persists, go to a professional repair shop for air replenishment. Do not disassemble or inflate it yourself to avoid damaging the airbag structure.
Damage to the Adjustment Mechanism
Failure of the adjustment mechanism (such as a loose handle or a failed gas lift) can also cause the seat to fail to rebound:
- Try adjusting theๅบ็ (base plate) knob; rotating it clockwise can increase the rebound force, and observe whether the seat regains its elasticity.
- If the gas lift is completely unresponsive (such as air leakage in the gas lift or internal damage), replace it with a new one.
Other Mechanical Issues
- Cable or debris jamming: Check if there are any cables or debris wrapped around the base of the chair or the five-star wheel base, clear them, and then test the chair's function.
- Relieving minor jamming: Sit upright and gently rotate the chair body left and right, which may release minor jamming of mechanical components.
- Spring or structural failure: If the base plate spring is damaged or there is an internal structural failure, contact a professional repair technician to replace the parts.
If none of the above methods work, it is recommended to contact after-sales service or a professional repair technician for further inspection to avoid secondary damage caused by self-disassembly.
