Office Chair Non-Adjustable
The non-adjustability of an office chair may be caused by issues with the cable control switch, gas rod connection, control lever, foreign object obstruction, or mechanical component failure. Here are specific analyses and solutions:

Cable Control Switch Issues: The cable control switch is a crucial component for adjusting the office chair. If the switch cannot open and maintain its position normally, it may be due to a loose cable. In this case, adjust the nut position on the cable and lengthen the distance to try to resolve the issue. If the cable is broken, the switch will not function properly, and a new cable control switch needs to be replaced. Additionally, if the cable becomes detached from its hook, the adjustment function will be lost. Simply reattach the cable's terminal to its original position to restore functionality.
Gas Rod Connection Issues: When the cable control switch is functioning normally, but the backrest still cannot be adjusted, there may be a problem with the small gas rod connecting the backrest. Gently pinch the thin end of the gas rod and press down. If the gas rod has no pressure and can be easily retracted, it indicates that the gas rod is damaged and needs to be replaced with a new one.
Control Lever Issues: The forward and backward tilt of a computer chair's backrest is usually adjusted by a control lever located beneath the seat. If the backrest cannot return to its original position and becomes locked, it may be because the control lever has been inserted below the pin hole. In this case, pull the control lever out again to allow the backrest to return to its original position, then push the control lever back in and insert it into the pin hole to restore normal adjustment functionality.
Foreign Object Obstruction or Mechanical Component Failure: Foreign object obstruction is a common cause. The pivot area at the bottom of the backrest and the gaps in the chassis mechanism are prone to being obstructed by items such as detached clothing or tangled data cables, preventing the backrest from returning to its original position. Carefully inspect these areas and remove any foreign objects. In terms of mechanical failures, issues with the hydraulic system (such as a damaged or failed hydraulic rod), lock block/tongue failures (abnormal movement, wear, or breakage of the lock tongue), deformed lock posts, damaged control tabs, or failed springs can all lead to the inability to adjust the office chair. Conduct troubleshooting and repairs based on the specific situation, and contact a professional repair technician if necessary.
