New Packaging for Office Chairs

Admin October 12, 2026

For the new packaging of office chairs, you can refer to the following professional methods to ensure safety during handling and transportation:

1. Categorized Handling: Disassemblable and Non-disassemblable Chairs

  • Disassemblable office chairs: Before moving, completely disassemble them into individual components (such as the backrest, seat cushion, armrests, chair legs, etc.) to avoid packaging difficulties or damage due to excessive volume in the assembled state. After disassembly, wrap each part separately with stretch wrap, paying special attention to protecting easily worn parts like metal connectors and screw holes to prevent parts from falling off or scratching during transportation.
  • Non-disassemblable office chairs: They need to be packaged as a whole. First, wrap them horizontally with bubble wrap twice, and then vertically cross-wrap them twice to ensure all surfaces, including the seat, backrest, and armrests, are covered. Three to five layers of stretch wrap and bubble wrap should be stacked to enhance the cushioning effect. Prominent parts such as chair legs and wheels should be additionally wrapped tightly with bubble wrap to avoid collision and deformation.

2. Original Packaging and Alternative Solutions

  • Intact original packaging: Simply place the packaged chair into the original carton, ensuring there is no gap between the chair and the inner walls of the carton. If there are gaps, use fillers such as foam pellets or old newspapers to stuff them tightly and prevent movement during transportation.
  • Lost original packaging: You need to make an outer packaging yourself. Select cardboard (such as corrugated cardboard) and cut it into a box that matches the size of the chair to ensure it can fully accommodate the chair. Reinforce the edges and corners of the box with hard angle protectors (such as plastic corner guards) to prevent packaging damage due to squeezing during handling.

3. Enhanced Protection for Key Parts

  • Chair legs and wheels: Wrap them separately with bubble wrap and then secure them with stretch wrap to prevent the wheels from falling off or the chair legs from scratching other items.
  • Metal connectors: If the chair has adjustable metal rods for height or angle, wrap them with bubble wrap and then fix them to the main body of the chair with tape to prevent loosening during transportation.
  • Fragile parts: For example, plastic decorative pieces on the backrest should be wrapped separately with bubble wrap and marked with a "Fragile" label to remind handlers to handle them with care.

4. Final Sealing and Labeling

  • After all packaging is completed, seal the openings of the carton or the homemade packaging with wide tape to ensure there are no gaps.
  • Mark warning labels such as "Fragile", "This Side Up", and "Handle with Care" on the outside of the packaging, and indicate the weight of the chair and handling precautions to reduce the risk of transportation damage.

By following these steps, you can effectively protect the safety of office chairs during handling and transportation and avoid damage caused by improper packaging.
