Office Chair Movements
Office chair movements mainly include three types: office chair yoga, seated fitness methods, and a 5-minute simple HIIT chair workout.

Office Chair Yoga: Through specific movement designs, it can specifically alleviate muscle stiffness caused by prolonged sitting. For example, when sitting facing forward on a chair with your back slightly leaning against the backrest and your hands clasping your head, leaning back, inhaling to open your elbows and look at the ceiling, and exhaling to tuck your chin in and bring your elbows in can stretch the front of the neck and the sternocleidomastoid muscle, improving cervical spine forward tilt. When turning around to face the backrest and sitting down, grabbing the right side of the backrest with your left hand and stretching your right hand upward while bending your body to the side can activate the lower trapezius and rhomboid muscles, relieving pain along the medial edge of the scapula. These movements, combining static stretching and dynamic adjustments, can effectively improve common problems such as lower back pain and shoulder and neck stiffness.
Seated Fitness Methods: Designed specifically for people with limited lower limb mobility or those who sit for long periods, it involves completing low-intensity whole-body training in a seated position. The movement system covers multiple body parts: the warm-up stage uses arm circles to activate the shoulder joints; abdominal and back training strengthens the core muscles through seated leg raises (slowly raising both legs straight until parallel to the ground); shoulder training improves rounded shoulders with seated lateral raises (holding light objects horizontally with both hands and extending them outward); foot training promotes lower limb blood circulation through toe gripping and ankle circles; head training relaxes the neck muscles through slow nodding and turning. Paired with abdominal breathing (inhaling as the abdomen expands and exhaling as it contracts), it can enhance training effects. Long-term adherence can promote blood circulation, improve heart blood supply function, and prevent occupational diseases such as lower back pain.
5-Minute Simple HIIT Chair Workout: Suitable for efficient training in small spaces, it boosts metabolism through short, high-intensity interval training. Typical movements include squat jumps (holding the back of the chair with both hands, feet shoulder-width apart, quickly squatting and then jumping), chair push-ups (supporting yourself on the chair surface with both hands and performing push-ups with your body in an inclined plank position), and high knees (quickly alternating lifting your legs to chest height in place). Each movement lasts for 30 seconds with a 10-second rest, repeated for 2-3 sets, comprehensively training the quadriceps femoris of the thighs, the gastrocnemius of the calves, the rectus abdominis of the core, and the triceps brachii of the arms. This training mode can quickly raise the heart rate, promote fat burning, and have a significant effect on improving sub-health conditions such as decreased metabolism and muscle atrophy caused by prolonged sitting.
