Office Chair Mesh Grades
Office chair mesh can be divided into three grades—low-end, mid-end, and high-end—based on differences in material, craftsmanship, and performance. Details are as follows:

Low-end office chair mesh is represented by single-layer and double-layer mesh. Single-layer mesh has a simple structure and low cost, typically used for backrests, providing basic breathability and support, but with limited durability and comfort. Double-layer mesh is mostly used for seat cushions, consisting of two layers of mesh stacked together to disperse pressure by increasing softness and improve durability, though overall performance remains at a basic level.
Mid-end office chair mesh centers around special mesh. Special mesh has a single-layer structure but is treated with special craftsmanship to withstand the high pressure on seat cushions while offering greater design flexibility and comfort. Initially imported from the United States and South Korea, the technology was later localized by Taiwanese enterprises and domestic manufacturers, leading to a significant reduction in price and an expansion in application scope, making it a cost-effective choice in the mid-end market.
High-end office chair mesh includes various types with significantly improved performance indicators.
American MATREX mesh uses patented polyester-based elastomer special materials, produced through jacquard weaving with fluorescent anti-counterfeiting threads and certified by BIFMA, equipped with exclusive laser labels. Its performance indicators, such as elastic recovery rate and durability lifespan, are leading, suitable for long-term use, but with higher costs.
U-mesh adopts a crisscross weaving method, embedding TPE elastomers to form a four-way stretch structure, offering balanced performance that combines support and comfort with outstanding cost-effectiveness.
High-elastic nylon mesh typically uses a blend of 30%-50% nylon and polyester, possibly embedding TPE elastomers or spandex to form a four-way stretch structure, significantly enhancing rebound and tear resistance, suitable for scenarios with high durability requirements.
3D mesh is composed of two layers of polyester mesh fabric on the top and bottom with high-strength polyester monofilaments arranged vertically at 90° in the middle, offering outstanding breathability but being more difficult to clean and requiring regular maintenance.
Different grades of mesh vary significantly in material, craftsmanship, and performance. Users can choose based on their budget, usage scenario, and requirements for comfort and durability.
