Office Chair Mesh Cleaning

Admin October 16, 2026

The cleaning of office chair mesh can be carried out with reference to the following steps:

First, use a vacuum cleaner for preliminary dust removal. After long-term use, the surface of the office chair mesh accumulates a large amount of dust particles. If this dust is directly cleaned with water, it may become more difficult to remove as it adheres to the mesh holes after getting wet. Therefore, a vacuum cleaner (preferably one with a soft-bristle brush head to avoid scratching the mesh) should be used first to thoroughly vacuum the mesh surface, focusing on cleaning the gaps and folds to ensure that the dust is fully removed.

Second, dilute the cleaning agent and spray it. Choose a neutral or weakly alkaline cleaning agent (to avoid corrosion of the mesh material by strong acids or alkalis), dilute it according to the instructions on the package, pour it into a spray bottle, and spray it evenly over the mesh surface. If the stains on the mesh are light, the concentration of the cleaning agent can be reduced; if the stains are heavy, the concentration can be appropriately increased, but it must be ensured that the cleaning agent does not leave residues that make the mesh stiff.

Then, let it sit for stubborn stains. For stubborn stains such as oil stains and ink, after spraying the cleaning agent, let it sit for 1-5 minutes to allow the cleaning agent to fully penetrate and break down the stains. The sitting time can be adjusted according to the degree of the stains, but it should not be too long to avoid increasing the cleaning difficulty when the cleaning agent dries.

Finally, wipe or extract-clean the mesh and dry it.

  • Wet towel wiping method: Wet a towel with clean water (wring it out until it is semi-dry to prevent excessive water from seeping into the mesh), gently wipe it along the texture of the mesh, and repeat 2-3 times until the cleaning agent residues are removed. After wiping, use a dry towel to absorb the surface moisture or place it in a well-ventilated area to dry naturally.
  • Steamer/high-temperature cleaning machine method: If the mesh has severe stains or requires deep cleaning, a steamer (which generates high-temperature steam to soften the stains) and a high-temperature cleaning machine (which flushes with high-pressure water flow) can be used alternately. After each extraction cleaning, use a water absorber to dry the mesh water, and repeat at least twice to ensure thorough cleaning. This method is efficient but requires professional equipment and is suitable for batch cleaning scenarios.

Precautions: Avoid using hard-bristle brushes or sharp tools during the cleaning process to prevent scratching the mesh; ensure that the mesh is completely dry before using it again after cleaning to prevent mildew; if the mesh material is special (such as nylon or polyester fiber), check the instructions in advance to confirm the cleaning method.
