Office Chair Mesh Cleaning

Admin October 14, 2026

The following methods can be referred to for cleaning the mesh of office chairs:

Method 1: Basic Cleaner Wiping Method
For daily stains, first evenly spray a specialized cleaner (or diluted neutral cleaner) on the dirty mesh surface. If the stains are stubborn (such as oil stains, ink, etc.), let it sit for 1-5 minutes to allow the cleaner to fully penetrate and break down the stains. Then, gently wipe along the texture of the mesh with a slightly damp, clean towel, avoiding excessive force that could deform the fibers. After wiping, use a dry towel to absorb any remaining moisture and prevent water stains. This method is suitable for mild stains, is simple to operate, and causes minimal damage to the mesh.

Method 2: Deep Cleaning Extraction Method
If the mesh has accumulated a lot of dust or has deep-seated stains, it needs to be treated in steps:

  1. Vacuum Pre-treatment: Use a vacuum cleaner (equipped with a soft-bristle brush head) to slowly move along the mesh surface and suck up dust particles, avoiding direct pressing that could cause the fibers to collapse.
  2. Cleaner Spraying: Dilute the cleaner in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 and pour it into a spray bottle. Evenly spray it on the mesh surface, ensuring that the stained areas are fully covered.
  3. Stain Removal: Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the surfactants in the cleaner to break down the adhesion between the stains and the fibers.
  4. High-Temperature Extraction: Alternately use a sauna machine (in steam mode) and a high-temperature cleaning machine (with the water temperature controlled below 60ยฐC) to extract the mesh. The steam can soften the stains, and the high-temperature water flow can thoroughly flush the gaps between the fibers. After each extraction, use a water absorber to simultaneously dry the moisture and prevent the mesh from becoming overly wet and moldy. This method needs to be repeated 2-3 times until the extracted liquid is clear and free of stains.
  5. Drying Treatment: After cleaning, place the chair in a well-ventilated area to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight or using a hot air blower to prevent the mesh from aging and becoming brittle.

Method 3: Brushing Intensive Stain Removal Method
For local stubborn stains (such as coffee stains, lipstick marks), you can choose a cleaner containing deep-cleaning factors (such as oxygen-based bleach or enzyme-based products). Spray the cleaner directly on the stains and gently brush along the fiber direction with a soft-bristle brush (such as a toothbrush or a specialized mesh brush), avoiding brushing against the grain which could cause pilling. After brushing, wipe clean with a slightly damp towel and observe if the color is even. If there is still residue, repeat spraying the cleaner and brushing until the stains are completely removed. This method is suitable for small-area, high-concentration stains, but be careful to control the brushing force to prevent damage to the mesh coating.

Precautions:

  • Before cleaning, test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area (such as the lower part of the chair back) to see if it causes fading or deformation.
  • Avoid using chlorine-based bleach or strong acid-base cleaners to prevent corrosion of the mesh fibers.
  • Regular cleaning (recommended every 3-6 months) can extend the lifespan of the mesh and reduce the risk of stain penetration.
