Office Chair Mesh Chair Packaging

Admin October 09, 2026

When packaging office chairs and mesh chairs, proper protection should be taken to avoid bumps and collisions. The following steps can be followed:

Prepare Materials

Preparing appropriate packaging materials is fundamental. You need to prepare a cardboard box larger than the chair to accommodate the chair or its components. Bubble wrap is a key material for shock absorption and cushioning, effectively reducing damage to the chair from collisions. Plastic wrap or stretch wrap can be used to secure small parts and prevent scratches on the chair's surface. A utility knife is used for cutting materials, and tape and a box sealer (if available) are used for sealing the box. If the chair is detachable, you also need to prepare tools such as screwdrivers for disassembly.

Disassemble Parts (If Detachable)

For detachable office chairs, such as gas cylinders and wheels, it is recommended to disassemble them first. During the disassembly process, mark small parts like screws. This can be done by wrapping them separately in plastic wrap and attaching a label, or by screwing them back into the corresponding screw holes. The advantage of this is that it facilitates subsequent reassembly and avoids affecting the installation progress due to mixed-up or lost parts.

Wrap for Protection

  • Non-detachable Chairs: Purchase an extra-large shipping box and use a large amount of bubble wrap and stretch wrap to protect the chair. Focus on wrapping protruding and easily bumped parts such as chair corners and armrests. These parts are more likely to be damaged during transportation, and strengthening protection can reduce the risk of damage.
  • Detachable Chairs: First, roughly wrap the entire chair or each part with bubble wrap. For genuine leather or wooden surfaces, cover them with a layer of soft cloth before wrapping with bubble wrap to prevent marks from friction with the wrap. Then, wrap the bubble wrap with plastic wrap to keep it tight. For vulnerable parts such as painted surfaces, edges, and the connection areas of armrests, provide thicker wrapping for more reliable protection.

Pack and Seal the Box

  • Non-detachable Chairs: Place some padding at the bottom of the cardboard box, such as foam blocks or crumpled old newspapers, and then put in the wrapped chair. Cut the cardboard box according to the shape of the chair to ensure the box is fully filled and prevent the chair from moving during transportation.
  • Detachable Chairs: Place the parts wrapped with protective materials in the cardboard box in an orderly manner. Use filling materials such as bubble wrap and foam to fill all the gaps in the box to prevent the parts from moving and colliding during transportation. When sealing the box with tape, apply at least two horizontal and two vertical strips, especially ensuring the bottom and seams are firmly taped. Mark "Fragile" and the "This Side Up" direction on the front of the box to remind handlers to be careful.
