Office Chair Material Standards
The material standards for office chairs mainly include three aspects: frame materials, cushioning materials, and surface materials.

Frame Materials: Solid wood frames are a common choice for mid-to-high-end office seating. Solid wood has natural bending strength, enabling it to withstand the dynamic loads generated by human sitting postures without easily deforming or breaking. Additionally, the fibrous structure of solid wood has vibration-absorbing properties, effectively suppressing the transmission of high-frequency vibrations and reducing discomfort caused by chair wobbling or external vibrations, providing users with stable and comfortable support.
Cushioning Materials: High-density foam cushioning is a commonly used filling material for office chairs. It typically features an 80% breathability design, aimed at balancing the issue of heat accumulation during prolonged sitting. If the breathability is too low, heat generated at the contact points between the body and the chair cannot be dissipated in a timely manner, leading to a stuffy feeling and affecting the user experience. Conversely, if the breathability is too high, the supportiveness of the foam decreases, failing to provide sufficient support for the body and easily causing fatigue. Therefore, an 80% breathability level achieves a good balance between heat dissipation and supportiveness.
Surface Materials:
- Ergonomic Chairs: Most products use high-elasticity mesh fabric as the primary material. This material contains tens of thousands of tiny pores internally, forming efficient air circulation channels. Compared to traditional leather or foam cushions, high-elasticity mesh fabric dissipates heat more quickly, promptly releasing heat generated by the body. Even during prolonged sitting in summer, it can maintain dryness, reduce stuffiness and dampness, and enhance user comfort.
- Regular Office Chairs: The materials are more diverse, including leather, mesh fabric, or solid wood. Among them, leather fabric combined with a filling layer of over 800+ fluffiness forms a dual protection mechanism of surface abrasion resistance and internal cushioning. The leather surface has good abrasion resistance, capable of withstanding friction and scratches during daily use, extending the chair's lifespan. Meanwhile, the high-fluffiness filling layer provides a soft and comfortable touch for the body while acting as a buffer, reducing pressure on the chair from the body.
