Marking Office Chairs

Admin October 17, 2026

The frequency and method of marking office chairs should be determined based on the purpose of the marking and the usage scenario, as detailed below:

Marking Frequency

  1. Maintenance Markings
    • Routine Maintenance: For regular maintenance needs such as seat cleaning reminders and frame inspections, it is recommended to check the marking status of ordinary office chairs every 1-3 months.
    • High-Frequency Usage Scenarios: For ergonomic chairs used for prolonged sitting every day, due to high usage intensity, the frequency of deep maintenance markings should be shortened to once every 20 days or so, such as checking the wear and tear of components like gas cylinders and casters.
  2. Functional Safety Markings
    • Markings related to safety or functionality (such as safety locks on folding chairs and gear adjustment reminders on gaming chairs) should be checked once a month. If any markings are found to be damaged, faded, or displaced, they should be updated immediately to avoid the risk of misoperation due to unclear information.
  3. Special Circumstances
    • When the chair undergoes movement, repair, impact, or extensive wear and tear, additional inspections should be conducted temporarily. For example, after moving, it is necessary to confirm that the safety markings are intact, and after repair, the status of key components should be remarked.

Marking Methods

  1. Multi-User Shared Scenarios
    • Waterproof Self-Adhesive Labels: Suitable for locations on the chair frame that are not easily touched, such as the bottom or sides, where names or exclusive numbers can be marked. These labels have moderate adhesion, do not leave residue when replaced, and can resist water stains from routine cleaning.
  2. Decorative Needs
    • Woven Ropes or Wooden Tags: Colorful woven ropes (such as flat knot designs) can be wrapped around the armrests of the chair back, or small wooden tags (engraved with names or patterns) can be hung. These markings are easy to remove and do not damage the original design of the chair, making them suitable for personalized office environments.
  3. Material Suitability Considerations
    • Avoid Sharp Engraving: Regardless of the method chosen, sharp tools such as knives should not be used to engrave on the chair surface to prevent damage to the material.
    • Prioritize Low-Adhesion Materials: For chairs made of leather or solid wood, low-adhesion marking materials (such as removable adhesive labels) should be used to prevent damage to the paint surface or leaving difficult-to-clean marks.

Summary: Marking office chairs should balance practicality and safety. For high-frequency usage or safety-critical components, inspection cycles should be shortened. Decorative markings should ensure reversibility, and material selection should match the type of chair to avoid damage.
