Office Chair Manual

Admin October 09, 2026

The MARKUS office chair features manual adjustment of tilt tension and seat height. Here are the details:

Tilt Tension Adjustment:
The tilt tension adjustment function of the MARKUS office chair is achieved through a knob on the lever located on the right side beneath the seat. When the user turns this knob, they can change the resistance of the seat backrest: turning it clockwise increases the resistance, making the backrest rebound tighter, suitable for postures requiring strong support; turning it counterclockwise reduces the resistance, making the backrest easier to recline, suitable for relaxation or short breaks. This design allows users to flexibly adjust the feedback force of the backrest according to their body weight, sitting habits, or work scenarios (such as focused work, discussions, or rest), avoiding excessive effort due to high resistance or reduced efficiency due to excessive backrest recline caused by low resistance.

Seat Height Adjustment:
The seat height adjustment of this office chair is also done manually, using a pneumatic rod or mechanical lifting mechanism beneath the seat. The user needs to maintain a sitting position, hold the edges of the seat with both hands, and step on the base with their feet (some models may require pressing a lever), using their body weight to assist in moving the seat up and down until the legs form a 90ยฐ angle with the ground, the feet are flat on the ground, and the back naturally fits against the seat backrest. This height standard ensures smooth blood circulation in the legs during prolonged sitting, reducing knee pressure or lower back suspension issues caused by a seat that is too high or too low, thereby reducing fatigue from prolonged sitting.

Design Significance:
The design of manual adjustment functions embodies ergonomic principles by giving users control over key seat parameters, enabling them to customize a comfortable sitting posture according to individual differences (such as height and body type) and usage needs (such as office work, meetings, or rest). Compared to automatic adjustment systems, manual adjustment has a simpler structure, a lower failure rate, and does not require an external power source, making it suitable for various office environments. Users are advised to read the instruction manual before use to familiarize themselves with the operation directions of the knob and lever, avoiding adjustment failure or seat damage due to misoperation.
