Office Chair Making Process
The process of making an office chair typically includes steps such as making the base frame, installing springs and support rods, making the backrest and armrest frames, processing the leather, making the seat cushion and backrest, and assembling the components.

Making the base frame: Workers place square steel tubes into a hydraulic press and bend them into square base frames with rounded corners at the four corners. Then, they weld the support steel plates to the openings of the frames. Alternatively, a hydraulic power machine can be used to bend No. 14 steel tubes into shape to make the frames for the bottom cushions. The ends are connected, and steel rods are welded in the middle. These steel rods will support the mechanism for adjusting the seat position.
Installing springs and support rods: Hook S-shaped springs onto the frames and connect three support rods to the springs in opposite directions to increase the elasticity and comfort of the seat. Or, hang S-shaped steel springs from the front to the back of the seat frame, place rods horizontally, and clamp them onto the springs to add extra stability and support.
Making the backrest and armrest frames: Weld and polish the armrest interfaces and backrest of the chair in a similar way to making the base frame. Or, construct the back frame of the chair, including the spine, armrest attachments, and other components, and smooth out the burrs and rough areas on the steel to ensure the frame is flat and smooth.
Processing the leather: Workers place plastic templates for parts such as the headrest and armrests on top of the leather and use a utility knife to cut out pieces of black leather according to the template patterns as the surface material to wrap around the parts. Another worker smooths the leather to place it evenly on the cutting table, cuts the patterns according to the cardboard templates, and avoids the natural flaws on the leather.
Making the seat cushion and backrest: Glue the leather onto harder foam cushions and cut out slightly larger foam pads according to the size of the leather to make the seat cushion and backrest parts of the office chair. To ensure comfort, use softer, fluffy foam pads. First, cut them into large squares, then cut them into connected rectangles at measured intervals. Mark the leather at the same intervals as the foam pads, fold and sew the leather to form the basic shape of the seat backrest's leather surface, and then sew the leather and decorations of the seat cushion together.
Assembling the components: Wrap the metal frame with foam pads, then put the sewn leather cover on top for decoration and fix the cover and the frame with screws. Connect the adjustable height armrests, hydraulic rods, gas springs, and the bottom support rods of the seat to the metal base to ensure the office chair can move up and down freely. Install the wheels on the bottom of the seat and insert the headrest and armrests into the designated positions.
