Office Chair Making Handicraft

Admin October 10, 2026

There are mainly two handmade methods for making office chairs: the nut office chair and the disposable round chopstick rotating backrest chair. Here are the specific introductions:

Nut Office Chair Making Method

  • Material Preparation: You need to prepare a girlfriend's back model (this model is used to obtain human back curve data for making a chair backrest that fits human ergonomics), a large number of nuts, wooden stakes, and welding and grinding tools.
  • Making the Backrest Structure: Place the nuts evenly on the back model to ensure that the nut distribution conforms to the human back curve. Then, use a welding tool to firmly weld the nuts together. After welding, use a grinding tool to grind the nut structure to make its surface flat and smooth, preventing scratches to the human body during use.
  • Making the Chair Body: Based on the imprint left by the human back on the model, grind the wooden stakes to make their shape perfectly match the nut backrest structure. This step requires precise measurement and meticulous grinding to ensure the comfort and stability of the chair.
  • Assembly Completion: Fix the ground nut backrest structure onto the wooden stakes. You can use screws or other fixing devices to reinforce it, ensuring that the backrest is firmly connected to the chair body, thus completing an office chair suitable for human ergonomics.

Disposable Round Chopstick Rotating Backrest Chair Making Method

  • Material Preparation: Prepare a large number of disposable round chopsticks, glue, paper, and scissors and other tools.
  • Making the Seat and Backrest: Use scissors to cut the disposable round chopsticks into components of different lengths. According to the designed dimensions and shapes, use glue to bond these components together to make the basic structure of the seat and backrest. During the bonding process, pay attention to the alignment and firmness between the components to ensure that the seat and backrest can bear the weight of the human body.
  • Making the Rotating Structure: Use disposable round chopsticks and paper rolls to make a movable rotating structure. Cut the chopsticks into appropriate lengths, roll the paper into axle sleeves, insert the chopsticks into the axle sleeves to form a rotating shaft. Then, fix the rotating structure at the bottom of the chair to ensure flexible and stable rotation.
  • Overall Assembly: Assemble the made seat, backrest, and rotating structure. Use glue or other fixing devices to connect the various parts together, completing a rotating backrest chair.
