Office Chair Maintenance Steps
The maintenance steps for office chairs are mainly divided into two parts: daily maintenance and regular maintenance, as detailed below:

Daily Maintenance
Surface Cleaning
- Mesh/Fabric Seat Surfaces: Use a vacuum cleaner or soft-bristled brush weekly to remove surface dust, paying special attention to debris in the seams. If stains occur, dilute a neutral cleaner, dampen a soft cloth with it, gently wipe the stain, and then use a dry cloth to absorb moisture, preventing cleaner residue from damaging the material.
- Leather Seat Surfaces: Wipe away dust daily with a dry, soft cloth. Use a slightly damp cloth (dipped in a small amount of water) weekly to clean sweat and oil stains. Apply a specialized leather conditioner once every quarter to maintain leather flexibility and prevent cracking.
- Plastic/Metal Frames: Wipe stains with a damp cloth dipped in a small amount of soapy water, then dry with a cloth. For minor rust on metal frames, dampen a cotton cloth with white vinegar, wipe the rust, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then wipe clean to prevent rust expansion.
Usage Habits
- Avoid placing heavy items (such as weights or sharp tools) on the armrests or seat surface to prevent deformation of the armrests or indentation of the seat.
- When moving the chair, push or pull gently to avoid forcefully hitting walls or table corners, preventing frame cracking or wheel damage.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially for leather and fabric seat surfaces, as UV rays accelerate material aging and fading.
Regular Maintenance
Lubrication of Adjustment Systems
- Gas Lift (Height Adjustment System): If height adjustment is sluggish, apply 1-2 drops of lubricating oil (such as silicone oil) at the connection between the gas lift and the base, and adjust the height several times to distribute the oil evenly.
- Tilt/Recline System: Check the tilt knob on the base. If adjustment resistance is high, open the housing (if detachable on some models) and apply a small amount of grease to metal components like gears and springs.
- Armrest Adjustment: If height or forward/backward adjustment is stiff, remove the armrest housing and spray a small amount of lubricant on the adjustment rod and slots.
Tightening of Connection Components
Regularly use a Phillips screwdriver or hex wrench to check the following parts: screws connecting the seat to the gas lift, bolts securing the base to the gas lift, screws connecting the armrests to the seat, and the clips connecting the five-star base to the gas lift. Tighten any loose parts promptly, and replace screws with stripped threads with new ones of the same size.Wheel Cleaning
Wipe the wheel surfaces with a damp cloth to remove dust. If hair or debris is stuck, use tweezers to remove it. If wheel rotation isไธ็ (not smooth), apply a small amount of lubricating oil or replace the wheels to ensure smooth movement.
