Office Chair Lying Leg Raise

Admin October 12, 2026

An office chair can be used for lying leg raise exercises. Here are the specific methods:

Method 1: Leaning Against the Chair Back

Choose a sturdy office chair. Lean your body against the back of the chair, ensuring that your back makes full contact with the chair back to obtain stable support. Grip the edges of the chair tightly with both hands and use the strength of your hands to maintain body stability, preventing your body from wobbling or slipping during the exercise. Keep your legs straight and together, maintaining tension in your leg muscles. Then, slowly raise your legs to a position parallel to the ground. During the leg-raising process, pay attention to controlling the speed to avoid losing balance or straining your muscles due to excessive speed. Once you reach a height parallel to the ground, hold this position for a moment and feel the contraction of your abdominal and leg muscles. After that, slowly lower your legs back to the starting position, also controlling the lowering speed. Throughout the process, keep your breathing even, inhaling when raising your legs and exhaling when lowering them. This exercise method mainly targets the abdominal muscles, especially the lower abdominal muscles, while also enhancing leg strength and stability.

Method 2: Simulating a Specialized Training Scenario

Adjust the office chair to an appropriate position. Lie on your back in a scenario where you can use the office chair for support, with your buttocks exactly at the end of the office chair and your feet off the ground, ensuring that your body is in a stable and comfortable state. Keep your legs straight and try to extend them as high as possible. During the leg-extension process, pay attention to your body's balance and coordination. When you reach the highest point, your body and feet will form an approximately 90ยฐ angle. At this time, your body is in a relatively tense state, which can fully stimulate the abdominal and leg muscles. When your body and feet form an approximate oblique angle, pause for a few seconds. These few seconds allow your muscles to undergo a stretch reflex, enhancing the training effect. Then, slowly lower your legs back to the original position in a controlled manner, being careful not to let your legs drop freely to avoid joint injuries. Repeating this exercise posture can effectively train the abdominal, leg, and hip muscles, improving your body's core strength and stability.
