Low Height of Office Chair
The standard range for the low height of an office chair is 40-50 centimeters, with a more specific size of 40-45 centimeters, and the adjustable models range from 38-48 centimeters.

Adjustment Methods Vary by Chair Type
Pneumatic Adjustment
Suitable for office chairs equipped with a pneumatic rod. When operating, sit steadily on the chair, find the height adjustment handle on the right side below the seat, gently lift it upwards, and at the same time, slightly lift your body. Keep the handle lifted and rely on your body weight to slowly sink down, and the chair will descend accordingly. When the seat reaches the ideal height where your feet can be placed flat on the ground, release the handle to lock the position. Be careful to avoid pressing down quickly or releasing the handle suddenly to prevent damage to the pneumatic rod or loss of control of the seat.Mechanical Adjustment (Screw/Rotary Type)
Commonly found in old-fashioned or basic office chairs. When adjusting, find the knob or fixing screw in the center or on the side of the chair base:- If it is a knob, rotate it clockwise (usually 'tighten to the right and loosen to the left', but lowering the height is mostly done by clockwise rotation), and at the same time, manually press the seat down to the desired height;
- If it is a model with a fixing screw, first use a tool (such as a wrench) to loosen the screw counterclockwise, then rotate the knob or press the seat down, and after adjustment, tighten the screw clockwise again to fix it. When operating, ensure that the screw is fully tightened to avoid safety hazards caused by a loose seat.
Using the Adjustment Lever
Some chairs are equipped with a lifting adjustment lever (mostly black or silver metal rods), located below or on the side of the seat. Adjust the height by lifting or pressing the lever while gently pressing or lifting the seat with your body; if the adjustment lever has a locking function, reset the lever to fix the height after adjustment. Before operating, confirm the function of the adjustment lever to avoid accidental triggering that may cause the seat to suddenly rise or fall.Adjusting the Chair Legs
If the chair has no adjustment function, you can place wooden boards, rubber pads, etc. (the thickness is recommended not to exceed 5 centimeters) under the chair legs to indirectly adjust the seat height by increasing the height of the chair legs. Ensure that the pads are flat and stable to prevent tipping over or sliding, and the pad material should be non-slip and wear-resistant.
Adjustment Precautions
- Safety First: Avoid violent adjustment or rapid operation to prevent the pneumatic rod from bursting, the screw from slipping, or the pads under the chair legs from shifting.
- Stability Test: After adjustment, gently shake the seat to confirm that there is no shaking, collapse, or abnormal noise, ensuring that the structure is stable.
- Ergonomic Fit: The ideal height should meet the requirements of having your feet placed flat on the ground, your knees bent at 90ยฐ, your waist supported and not suspended, and no pressure on your legs. If the adjustment still does not meet the requirements, it is recommended to replace the office chair with a more suitable one.
