Office Chair Loosening Hazards
Office chair loosening hazards mainly include screw loosening, overall seat loosening and swaying, tray loosening, and loosening hazards in other components, which can lead to safety accidents and health issues.

Screw Loosening
Screw loosening essentially involves the loss of preload at the connection point, typically caused by vibration and impact, improper installation, material embedding, or thread quality issues. Critical areas prone to screw loosening on office chairs include the connection points between the armrests and seat cushion, the backrest and chassis or seat cushion, the chassis and seat cushion attachment, and the installation points of the five-star base and wheels. Although screws rarely fly out at high speed when loose, they can cause structural instability and component misalignment, affecting usage safety.Overall Seat Loosening and Swaying
Overall seat loosening and swaying pose immediate risks of personal injury. During daily office activities such as adjusting posture, getting up to retrieve items, or leaning back to relax, instability in the seat can lead to tipping over or collapsing, resulting in soft tissue contusions, joint sprains, tailbone fractures, or even concussions. If sharp objects are being held or if the person is near steps or table corners, more severe secondary injuries may occur. Additionally, prolonged use of swaying seats can lead to chronic occupational health damage. Workers may unconsciously adjust the muscle exertion in their lower back and shoulder-neck areas to maintain balance, and prolonged non-natural sitting postures significantly increase the likelihood of muscle strain and spinal deformation. Studies indicate that the incidence of lumbar disc herniation among office workers using swaying seats is 3.2 times higher than that among those using normal seats, while the incidence of neck and shoulder muscle strain increases by 2.7 times. Some individuals may even experience irreversible spinal curvature deformities, permanently affecting their work capacity and quality of life.Tray Loosening
Tray (chassis) loosening manifests as side-to-side wobbling, a phenomenon of mechanical fatigue caused by long-term weight-bearing and frequent use. Common causes include loose mechanical connections, wear on nylon slides or plastic clips, and aging of interface components. Tray loosening not only affects the user experience but also poses a risk of imbalance and falling.Loosening Hazards in Other Components
Substandard office chairs may also have hazards such as base fractures and caster detachments. If the safety of the gas cylinder in a pneumatic swivel chair cannot be guaranteed, it may trigger serious safety accidents such as explosions. The causes of explosions in low-quality gas cylinders include thin tube walls, impure inert gases, and poor sealing. If a five-star base with a thin or insufficiently strong tube wall is used, it may fracture during daily use, causing the user to fall.
