Office Chair Locking

Admin October 09, 2026

Office chair locking can be achieved through various methods, but it is necessary to make a reasonable choice based on actual needs and scenarios, while also considering the fairness of the use of public resources.

Locking Solutions to Prevent Others from Using

  • Chain Lock: Composed of a high-strength chain and a lock core. When in use, wrap the chain around load-bearing and non-removable parts of the office chair, such as the chair legs and armrest bases, and then fasten the lock core. It is suitable for most office chairs with regular structures, is affordable, and easy to operate, effectively restricting the chair from being moved or used.
  • Combination Padlock: Does not rely on a key; it unlocks and locks through a preset digital password. Simply clip the lock onto the space between the chair legs or the gaps in the chair frame to complete the locking. It is suitable for scenarios where you are worried about losing the key and need quick unlocking. There is no need to carry an extra key; just set the password and you can lock the chair at any time.
  • Flexible Cable Lock: The main body of the cable lock is a metal cable with a covering layer, which is more flexible and can easily wrap around irregularly shaped office chairs, such as those with special armrests or uneven chair legs. It has a wider range of adaptability, can not only fix the chair legs but also bind the chair to nearby fixed furniture, such as the legs of an office desk, to further enhance the security of preventing theft and locking the chair.

Locking Mechanisms for Computer Chairs

Seat fixation is achieved through mechanical or pneumatic devices. Common locking methods include mechanical locking (locking the seat position through a gear or catch structure, suitable for scenarios requiring high stability) and pneumatic locking (using a pneumatic rod to control the seat height and fixing the pneumatic rod through a locking mechanism to prevent the seat from sinking). It is widely used in office chairs, gaming chairs, and other seats that require frequent height adjustments. Its core function is to ensure that the seat remains stable during long working hours, avoiding discomfort or safety hazards caused by seat movement. When in use, regularly check its firmness, avoid overloading, and operate it correctly according to the instructions.

Locking Function of Office Chair Casters

One design involves installing a locking mechanism on the chair's casters, which can be activated by stepping on it or operating it manually. When locked, the casters are fixed by a mechanical device and cannot roll freely. Another design is to equip an adjustable locking device between the chair base and the casters. Users can control the movement of the casters by adjusting the locking knob or button on the base. This function can improve safety and stability, but not all office chairs have it. When choosing, consider actual usage needs and the work environment.
