Office Chair Loading and Shipping

Admin October 22, 2026

The loading and shipping of office chairs require selecting appropriate methods based on the chair type and transportation distance, while also paying attention to the choice of transportation services and handling details.

I. Chair Types and Packaging Methods

  1. Ordinary Office Chairs: If the chair has a simple structure (e.g., without wheels or armrests), it can be directly carried and loaded onto the vehicle without additional packaging.
  2. Chairs with Wheels or Armrests: It is recommended to disassemble removable parts such as wheels and armrests first to reduce space occupation and lower the risk of damage during transportation.
  3. Long-Distance Transportation or Fragile Chairs: The chairs need to be completely disassembled into independent components such as seats, backrests, and legs, which are then wrapped and protected with bubble wrap or soft cloth respectively. Screws and small parts should be placed in sealed bags and attached to the main components to avoid loss. All components should be placed in appropriately sized cardboard boxes, with the gaps filled with foam blocks or packing paper to prevent shaking and collision during transportation. Mark the outside of the boxes with 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up' signs to remind handlers to be careful.

II. Choice of Transportation Services

  1. Long-Distance Transportation: Prioritize logistics companies that offer door-to-door services, full-vehicle loading and unloading, and daily departures (such as Tianjin Zehangqiao Transportation Co., Ltd.). Prices start at around 300 yuan per ton, with nationwide service coverage, suitable for bulk shipments or large chair transportation.
  2. Same-City Transportation: Platforms like Huolala are more cost-effective, with starting prices for small trucks around 30-50 yuan, suitable for small quantities or urgent shipment needs.
  3. Charging by Weight/Volume: For lighter chairs (e.g., ordinary plastic chairs), express delivery services can be chosen, with costs around 30-50 yuan. Heavier solid wood chairs or massage chairs need to be transported through logistics companies, with costs calculated based on volume and weight, generally ranging from 100-200 yuan. It is necessary to confirm in advance whether the service includes upstairs delivery (especially in scenarios without elevators).

III. Transportation Precautions

  1. Packaging Integrity: Ensure that all components are tightly packaged to avoid collisions with exposed parts; cardboard boxes should be reinforced with tape to prevent cracking during transportation.
  2. Matching Transportation Methods: Choose transportation methods based on the material and value of the chairs. Fragile or high-value chairs should be prioritized for logistics and insured; ordinary chairs can weigh costs and choose between express delivery or logistics.
  3. Handling Specifications: When loading, place heavy items at the bottom and light items on top; avoid stacking too high to prevent crushing; secure the cardboard boxes to prevent sliding.
  4. Inspection Upon Receipt: Open the boxes and inspect the completeness of the components on the spot when receiving the goods. If any problems are found, immediately contact the transportation party for compensation.
