Loading Office Chairs into Vehicles

Admin October 08, 2026

Office chairs can be loaded into vehicles, but the handling strategy needs to be adjusted according to the vehicle type. The following points should be noted for specific operations:

I. Disassembly and Packaging

  1. Component Disassembly: Prioritize disassembling detachable components (such as chair legs, armrests, and headrests). If the chair has a modular design (e.g., a detachable backrest), the handling process can be further simplified. After disassembly, collect and store screws and small parts together to avoid loss.
  2. Protective Measures: Wrap all components with soft cloth or bubble wrap to prevent scratches on the vehicle's interior. For sharp components (such as metal chair legs), add multiple layers of protection to avoid scratching the car doors or seats.

II. Vehicle Adaptation Solutions

  1. SUV/MPV Models: For models like the Tiguan L with a large trunk opening and adjustable floor, the complete chair or only a few components (such as the headrest) can be loaded directly. If the chair's height exceeds the trunk's limit, try placing the backrest at a 45-degree angle or adjusting the angle of the rear seats to expand the space.
  2. Regular Sedans: Models like the Corolla require the chair to be disassembled into multiple parts for loading. If the chair is too tall (such as gaming chairs), the backrest must be completely removed, or a small truck should be used for transportation. If the trunk space is insufficient, some components can be placed in the rear seats, but ensure they are securely fastened.

III. Handling and Securing

  1. Protecting Car Doors and Interior: Place towels or bubble wrap at the contact points between the chair and the car doors to avoid scratches during handling. If the chair is heavy, it is recommended that two people collaborate to reduce unilateral stress.
  2. Securing Requirements: Use ropes or elastic straps to secure the chair inside the vehicle, prioritizing attachment to the trunk hooks or metal bars beneath the seats. If the chair is loaded in the rear seats, use seat belts or dedicated securing straps to restrain it and prevent sliding impact during sudden braking.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: According to traffic regulations, transporting personal items in private vehicles is not considered mixed passenger and cargo transportation, but the items must be secured and not obstruct the driver's view. If the chair is too large (e.g., exceeds the trunk height), it is recommended to contact a professional moving service.

IV. Labor-Saving Suggestions

If frequent handling of computer chairs is required, purchase dedicated transport bags (such as thick canvas bags) to reduce the risk of scattered components, or directly contact a moving company to use professional tools (such as hydraulic handling trolleys) for operation, reducing physical exertion and the probability of damage during self-handling.
